Jan's Restaurant, Buena Vista

went to Jan s tonight for dinner, waitress was horrible and we waited over 45 minutes for our food. And when I got my turkey, it was like they took a turkey leg and pulled the meat off---terrible. Would not go back for dinner

Jan was VERY rude! I will go to the Evergreen next time for sure.

We've been to Jan's a number of times and like it just fine. The food is a bit basic but good. This is your basic small town, family kind of restaurant. They always seem to be pretty busy, so they are doing something right.

In the front window there should be a sign saying "Enter At Own Risk" because it is HORRIBLE food. Also, the way the food is slapped on the plate is not very pleasing. If you want to go to a soup kitchen, Jan's is your place to go. Most everything is NOT homemade like it says. It is frozen. OH YEAH, and the "homemade pies" are not homemade they are shipped by a restaurant supplier. Just wanted EVERYBODY to know this place should be rated 0-1 stars. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

We have followed Jan around Colorado and we love coming here for her down home cooking. It is marvelous!

I have eaten at Jan's a few times in recent years, the last time being in September '09 when we stopped in for breakfast. The restaurant was crowded and busy, but we were served relatively quick, and the food was decent. Judging by the business they were doing this time and on previous visits, along with my own experience, I would say that they must be pretty reputable. I would, and probably will, eat there again on my next visit. As for several of the previous reviews, some look like the work of children (although the poor grammar may be and insult even to them). In addition, the comments by "ImissColorado" have probably done more to damage the business' reputation than the negative reviews have. They are very reminiscent of a pushy, spoiled child and sound suspiciously like a close relative of the owners. If I had not already experienced Jan's, I might very well have avoided the place based upon those comments alone. I only wonder if the owners are aware of the rather crude comments made on their behalf.

Oftentimes we just wing it when picking a place to eat. We always look for the restaurant with lots of vehicles around it. Hardly any place to park here!! And all local Colorado plates. We had a great experience here, too. The food was fantastic and nice big portions. Everyone was friendly and the place was packed!!! Definitely 5 big stars coming from us!!!!

Whether you're going for breakfast or dinner, these folks know how to make you feel at home and feed you right. Dinner entrees for under $10 and very affordable breakfasts make this a good choice. Jans serves down home cooking with large portions and the ladies always know how to make you feel right at home.

Some people that have commented below are frigging ridiculous. like the Restaurant owners that commented...I doubt anyone ever makes you happy and you live you life to complain..and as far as the other people that said they pulled the heath records for the place and will never go there agan...All I can say is your a liar...that place gets perfect 100 or 99 scores every year, i pulled them myself to to see. I used to eat there all the time before I moved, and now i wish every day there was a place like Jans that was half as good!!! Keep up the great Work Jan what a great place to visit.

This restaurant was reccomended by fellow travelers, but we were very disappointed in the food and the service. As restaurant owners ourselves we made allowances, but we will not visit Jan's again.
