favoloso!!! Real Italian food from real Italians.
When an Italian restaurant claims to be authentic, I always check the menu for grammatical errors in any Italian language on the menu. Well, I can assure you that there were no errors on this menu, grammatical or otherwise. We started the meal with a rucola, cantalope, and lobster salad. Then, my wife had pork in prune and raisin sauce while I had veal rolls stuffed with butternut squash and sauteed in white wine and butter. Such fanastic food quickly put us on course for what may have been - and it's difficult to bring myself to say it after having lived in Italy for years- the best tiramisu I've ever had.
Since Sapori serves authentic Italian food, you might be surprised to see such fresh and wonderful variety. It's definitely worth a trip on the Patco if want to get away from Old City or Rittenhouse. Plus, Collingswood is a great place to be in warmer weather. The only criticism is that it was a little crowded and a little loud, but this adds to character, right?
Two things. Collingswood is pretty much a dry city, but that will prove to be an advantage if you've got a bottle of wine that you've been waiting to try. So, bring your alcohol. Also, they have a $40 special where you can get a salad, pasta, entree, and dessert. This is definitely worth it if you want to have a long fantastic meal. Hey, it better be good. The owner is Sicilian, the chef is from Naples, and at least one waiter is from Puglia. Sapori e' favoloso.
