Country Bounty Restaurant, Salida

Great family restaurant and awesome Friday PIE!!! When in Salida, we never miss this place. In summer, we love the beautiful patio out back and in winter, we love the cozy atmosphere inside. We like the regional game options, as well as the more traditional options. The best part is the homemade chocolate pie with a meringue crust on Fridays! It's worth any drive. Lastly, I enjoy browsing the gift shop while my husband has a final cup of coffee. Plus, there is mini-golf course behind the restaurant, that's great for entertainment afterwards!

It's a 50/ 50 shot at this place. We have been through the area for years and it is always the same. One meal will be acceptable and the other is not. DO NOT BE THE FIRST ONES THERE FOR SUPPER!!!!!!! The first meals of the evening are the left overs from the lunch meal. When we pointed this out to the young kid in the website picture who must be the owner he was very apologetic but got nasty when I pointed out that dried up, warmed up leftovers should have never been on my wife's plate. The young man offered to replace the meal but it did not make up for the terrible experience. This is the first review I have ever done and the negative experience here was enough to motivate me to write this.

This restaurant is a perfect fit for those visiting Salida. They have great food, a small gift shop, small town atmosphere and good service. In addition, they have a catering business that will knock your socks off if you need anything catered for an event.

We have been eating here off and on for over 20 years and have found it to overall a very good experience. I would say it is different since the dids took over but is still a great place. I think the reviewer who said it had turned to c*** had other axes to grind and the folks traveling through NM, CO, and Utah were having a bad day and took it out on the Country Bounty. I have eaten at the Patio Pancake place and have had a good and a bad experience in different years. Prices are as reasonable as many other places I have eaten in Salida and elsewhere. I would not hesitate to recommend the Country Bounty.

My familiy LOVES the Country Bounty! We have lived here for a number of years and after having visited ALL the restaurants Salida has to offer, Country Bounty is our favorite! The waitstaff is friendly and accomodating and the menu is exceptionally hearty & delicious. The atmosphere is TRULY family oriented - kids are always welcome & treated wonderfully by all staff. I recommend this restaurant to anyone & everyone!

We have had the opportunity to visit Salida on several occasions to visit some friends and the Country Bounty was highly recommended to us. We visited on our first trip for dinner and absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. I am shocked at some of the reviews as they directly contradict every experience we have had at this restaurant. The service has been friendly, and food excellent and the prices fair. My family will continue to visit every time we pass through the area.

The food was less than stellar. We ordered breakfast and got food that had been sitting under the heat lamps and became overcooked. When it was sent back, they re cooked bacon but by then the toast which had been laying on top of the eggs had gotten soggy. The waitress, Brenda, tried to be helpful, but was still a little clueless. I mean if you leave most of the stuff on your plate, is it possible that is was really a "good" experience? The next day we ate at the Patio Pancake Place, much better experience. I am sure we will never eat at Country Bounty again.

Each time I have been in the area, I have made it a point to eat here. The food and service has always been excellent. It made our trip to the area worth it even more. THe homey atmosphere is a draw as is the gift shop. Prices are very reasonable for the amounts of food we received. I would recommend the Country Bounty Restaurant to anyone who wants great food for a decent price. I look forward to my next trip to the area to get to eat there again.

Every time I’m in Salida I always stop in and eat at the Bounty. It’s a great spot, has been for years, and there’s nothing like getting a great “home cooked” meal in a nice family restaurant. Already looking forward to my next trip!

Whenever we're in the Salida area, we always make it a point to eat at this charming restaurant on Hwy 50. We have especially enjoyed the terrific value of their delicious Sunday brunch and if we happen to be there on a Friday, their famous chocolate mousse is a special treat. We've always had great service and, if you're there in the summer, eat outside on the patio -- the mountain views are AWESOME!
