Food is good however the tacos shells are store bought from the box. I m wondering why its so hard to fry a taco shell especially if this is supposed to be an authentic Mexican food restaurant. Also we ordered new york strip steak and the meat looked like a bloody piece of light brown pork chop.
While driving to our destination my family & me decided Tequilla's would be a great place to stop for dinner since, we still had a long way to travel. Who does not like Mexican Food!? Therefore, we stopped to enjoy a wonderful meal, although we spoke too soon.
Oh my goodness, the waiter was very polite & attentive, however, the salsa was watery, too much heat and no flavor. Which, is not the waiters fault, this tragic salsa should never make an appearance.
The food was cooked though, worst of all, I ordered the carnitas (pork) BUT served american style watery-based beef stew and our waiter obviously does not know what carnitas looks like at all. Mind you, there is a huge difference between the two dishes. Also, every entree on our table had too many green bell peppers.
Nevertheless, customer service was right on key, great personalities & service, and clean but I firmly believe Gordon Ramsey should help them out with the food.
While attending the National Silhouette Smallbore Championships in Raton, NM. ate here. Wonderful Mexican food and atmosphere. Being from North Carolina, we were in for a treat. The salsa was so different from the Mexican restaurants out east. So we got seconds and thoroughly enjoyed. Would love to have the recipe.
