We purposely looked for the Dutch Kitchen after hearing about their pies. We were not disappointed. I had the buttermilk pie which had the flakiest crust and delightful filling. My husband ate the apple pie with caramel sauce ala mode. He didn't stop until he had eaten every bite. If we lived in the area, we would definitely become regular customers!
Rude people work here. Food just okay. Does not accept credit cards. Charges a fee to share your plate but does not tell you until the bill comes. Nasty and dirty disgusting place. Ladies restroom makes you want to throw up your food. Old outdated building, feels like you are eating in an outhouse. Dont waste your time or money here. Too many other good restaurants in the area.
Great place to have a sandwich. The sandwiches were excellent. Not expensive either. The place is small and it's hard to find a parking place close by but it is definately worth trying. The only down thing is the pies are homemade and taste good but are a little expensive.
I read about the Dutch Kitchen on the internet, so we decided to try it. The place is very small. If u see a line outside, that is the waiting line. There is no waiting area inside. The food was great. Soup and sandwiches, pie for desert. Prices moderate.
I used to live in Manitou Springs and ate at the Dutch Kitchen at every possible opportunity. When I go back to visit I always make sure I eat there. I'm not really a sandwich person, but these things are unbelievably delicious. The lemonade is made with local spring water and the pies are perfection. You'd be nuts not to try it.
BBQ Pork Sandwiches Can't Be Beat at Dutch Kitchen!
By A Yahoo Contributor, 10/19/04
My sister and her family live in Colorado Springs. Recent visit we had the BBQ pork sandwiches at the Dutch Kitchen. I hadn't had one in about 20 years and they are just as tasty and excellent as I remember. The pork is so tender and the sauce is mouthwatering.
If you love corned beef this is the place to go to. There sandwiches are awesome and their home made pies (they usually offer about 20 each day) are simply delicious. Great food at a reasonable price. Dinner selections are available also.
