5 reviews for Tajine Alami Moroccan Rstrnt

Just a totally awful experience! I took my wife and a group of 5 others to this place for my wifes birthday. Walking in we expected the best from this place due to the prices they charge etc...We paid $32 for the "6 course meal" each plus parties of 5 or more pay 18% gratuity on there check. Being that there was 7 of us we were treated as a tip that was already made from the very beggining. It took them quite a while to come over at all and even talk to us. When they finally came to ask us for our drink order the waiter stared at 1 end of the group and took my freind and his wives drink order. My wife was looking at the wine list and the waiter actually left our table after taking 2 drink orders obviously annoyed that he had to wait for my wife to choose a wine. Well after 15 MINUTES of him not coming back we had to get up and track him down so he could come over and get the rest of our drinks. About another 5 minutes passed and he finally came over to the tune of "what you want?" We all ordered our drinks and tried our best to blow it off. The food came out and us being dissapointed is an understatement. Being that they say it was a 6 course meal we expected to get a good amount of food. We couldnt have been more wrong. They gave us a couple peices of bread as 1 "course" a "salad" as another course that was green beans and carrot slices to dip in Hummus. Now its wort noting that each of us did not get our own salad. It was a plate for all 7 of us to share. Followed by an atrocious appetizer with chicken and eggs topped with powdered sugar?! The main course was actually very good and the Baklava was good too. I still cant figure out how they figure the meal to be 6 courses either. After we paid our bill +18% tip for the worst service I have ever had we all went and got fast food because we were all STARVING. My cut of the bill was $117 and I can honestly say that I have never wasted money on a more terrible experience in my life. I highly recommend stearing WAY clear of this place. The apperance of the place already looks like it is falling off the planet and lets keep our $ away from it so it does just that!

Evening was ok until the point where I was leaving and almost made it to the exit when the owner chased me down and told me that I didn't leave a big enough tip ... in front of my date. It was embarrasing.

My favorite restaurant! I have lived in the Middle East for 4 years, and I love the food. The food is delicious and very authentic. I never go away hungry. The decor, staff and the belly dancing is the best I've seen in the U.S., and I try every Middle Eastern restaurant I see wherever we go. My husband and I go on a regular basis - for every speical occasion, and the "let just be romantic" times. It is a little pricy, but well worth the package.

My husband and I were really disappointed by this restaurant. First off, they advertise a 4-course meal ($21 for vegetarian or $24 for meat). We ordered this, and it was very little food. I usually have leftovers to take home, and I was still hungry afterward. One small triangle of bread should not count as a course! The chicken tagine was bland. There were no vegetables or couscous served with the cornish hen in the tagine. The lamb soup tasted like it was made from a bouillon cube. The vegetable soup was bland. The baklava was the tiniest piece I have ever seen served. Obviously, we were pretty annoyed about the price and the scant amount of food, especially for $24/person. The belly dancer also spent the entire time dancing at one end of the restaurant, completely ignoring the two tables at our end. I would not recommend this restaurant. I have had good Moroccan food, and this is not it! The only things I enjoyed were the tent decor, the friendliness of our server, and the mint tea.
