I was pleasantly surprised by the Olive Branch cuisine. I work downtown and sometimes during lunch hour Iâll wonder Tejon Street until something strikes my fancy and then I usually get it to go and take it back to work. I decided to try the Olive Branch for the first time and had the Garlic Shrimp Pasta. No, it wasnât really cheap, but it wasnât a sandwich either, which is only $3-4 less downtown. I got a nicely sized side salad, a piece of garlic bread, my shrimp pasta, and a piece of lemon bread for just under $13. I have to say I was shocked at how good the pasta dish was. I could not believe how good it tasted! I felt like Iâd just picked up a $30 dish from a fancy restaurant on the west side. The side salad was great and I think they must make their own honey mustard salad dressing because it was so good I actually dipped my fork in there a few extra times because I just liked the taste of it so much!
I did not dine in, so I canât really speak of the service there, but I was helped promptly with my to-go order. There seemed to be a few business diners there, but the majority of the customers seemed to be locals who just knew this was a good hole in the wall place to eat. I think this because most of the customers werenât dressed up like they worked downtown, but the place was pretty busy for a Friday lunch hour so clearly the Olive Branch knows what itâs doing. I will definitely eat here again!
