Found this placewhen we firstmoved here and always wanted to go in. Wish I knew what we where walkng into. I felt under dressed. As soon as we walked in and taken a few steps I relized it was not a normal place to eat i.e fridays. I was dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt but would of prefered if I was waring a nice button up and a belt. Any way food was good and service was good, liked the way the place was decarated. One problem is we took our kids would strongly discourage doing that.

We like German food, but this place was very dissapointing. Having lived in Germany, and having grown-up in a German Family this place was not very authentic, and it's blandness was certainly not worth the $$ we spent to eat there! The schnitzel was dry, the brautwurst had no flavor. It does not live up to all the hype we have heard and certainly not as good as most of these other reviews make it sound. The service and friendliness of staff was decent enough though, and we did like the environment where we sat outside. Save your money. Very dissapointed, we were looking forward to some GOOD German food. This was out first and last visit.

It's all about Authenticity at this Colorado Springs German restaurant. While you're there, try a combination dish and don't forget to get the warm cider! The decor makes you feel like your at a ski resort in Germany, and the food tastes great too!

Edelweiss Restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/3/08
Like German food done well? Edelweiss is worth a trip to the Springs just to eat there. They have a treed patio with more than four water features and a fish pond for cool and relaxing dining. The building itself is a wonderful place to venture through the rooms and enjoy the German relics. The food is authentic and very good. It also has other offerings if German is not to your liking. We go there often and it is always consistent....Try one of the fabulous German beers! Jan W

This place is great! The food is good. The only problem was deciding on what to get. The bier was super. People who think that German food is potatoes and cabbage better try this place to get a new perspective. The staff was really good as well. I am already thinking about returning.
