I have lived in Europe and traveled to Germany many times, as well as growing up in a German/ American Family. I found this Restaurant to be one of the Best in the State for German Food. We have gone here several time for Special Occasions, and would probably go more frequently but live on the total opposite side of Colorado Springs. We have always found the Staff very friendly and helpful and the food excellent. We love their Bread and rolls and pretzels, and almost always end up with so much to eat we bring home a portion large enough for another whole meal! Their deserts are all made on site and are excellent. If they were closer to where we live, I think we would go just for coffee or expresso and dessert in the evening often! As it is, we usually make sure we save room for dessert and Cappuccino! I would Highly Recommend going here for either Lunch or Dinner or even just Dessert and Cappuccion!!!

Found this placewhen we firstmoved here and always wanted to go in. Wish I knew what we where walkng into. I felt under dressed. As soon as we walked in and taken a few steps I relized it was not a normal place to eat i.e fridays. I was dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt but would of prefered if I was waring a nice button up and a belt. Any way food was good and service was good, liked the way the place was decarated. One problem is we took our kids would strongly discourage doing that.

We like German food, but this place was very dissapointing. Having lived in Germany, and having grown-up in a German Family this place was not very authentic, and it's blandness was certainly not worth the $$ we spent to eat there! The schnitzel was dry, the brautwurst had no flavor. It does not live up to all the hype we have heard and certainly not as good as most of these other reviews make it sound. The service and friendliness of staff was decent enough though, and we did like the environment where we sat outside. Save your money. Very dissapointed, we were looking forward to some GOOD German food. This was out first and last visit.

This place is great! The food is good. The only problem was deciding on what to get. The bier was super. People who think that German food is potatoes and cabbage better try this place to get a new perspective. The staff was really good as well. I am already thinking about returning.

Prior to visiting our son in Colorado Springs, this past September 2007, I listed a few restaurants in the city that I wanted to try. Edelweiss was one that I looked forward to dining at, and needless to say my wife, son and myself were very pleased with the restaurant. The staff was courteous and professional and very attentive. The menu was challenging, lots of good entries. Once we had ordered, and our food was tabled we enjoyed a great meal. I knew I would put Edelweiss on our agenda for the next time we visited The Springs. THE FOOD IS EXQUSIT. I highly recomend Edelweiss.

Edelweiss for Anniversary

Different and great (if you know you like german food!). We will take visiting family there in the future, but will probably not venture back just by ourselves. Good food, excellent service - quaint family style atmosphere. Not romantic, exactly, but we had lots of fun - if you're looking for a quiet place, this is not it. I'm a picky eater, so a salad served with cold scalloped vinegared potatoes, pickled cucumbers, pickled cabbage and cold pickled beans over leaf lettuce and topped with a tomato wedge was not exactly my style... I got the weinerschnitzel - pork was perfectly cooked piping hot - but the veggies on the side and the potatoes were not. Not sure if they were supposed to be though. My husband got a sour braten and he ate every bite - he loved it. German chocolate cake for dessert was probably worth it all by itself - YUMMM! Check was VERY reasonable for two dinners, two beers, an Iced tea and dessert! Large portions, too.

Germanic Heaven!

The Jagerschnitzel is some of the finest i've had on this continent or in Europe. The ambiance is truly reminiscent of visiting germany with so many colors and ecclectic art everywhere. This establishment is a gem find in a state that actually touts a sizable German population. Danke Schoern!
