I've been going to the Grubsteak for years, everytime we visit Estes Park we stop by to eat there. Last ime we visited we had breakfast and the Tuscan eggs benedict was a wonderful way to fuel up for our trip to the park. Also I loved the patio out back. We will be stopping by on our next trip to Estes Park for sure.
One of the worst places to eat in Estes Park. We waited for over 30 minutes for someone to finally wait on us. The food was late in getting out and it was cold. Won't bother giving them another chance.
When we first started visiting EP the Grubsteak as very good. Service adequate. In the years since then, and we travel to Estes 2-3 times a year the food and service has deteoriated. Would not recommend. We may try again this year to see if anything has changed but not hopeful.
The food was good. The service was horrible. It took 18 minutes to get someone to come to even take our drink orders. Second time around we had to go up to the bar to order our drinks as the waiter never came over to our table to ask if we needed anything. One of our orders was wrong. When I asked to speak to the manager the so called waiter we had, was the one who showed up to speak to me. He started walking away from me when I was telling him that I liked the food but service stunk. He and one of the waitresses was going back and forth the whole time we were there. If indeed he was management, he definately did not act like one and if they want that place to go anywhere they need to look into different managemnet. I will never go back and will tell everyone I know not to go there. I was disgusted.
Sincerely, S. Francescatti
This is your typical tourist trap type place, as indicated by the atmosphere, service, and prices.
The food is so-so, but the service is terrible. Most of the staff is from Russia and don't speak English very well which does the place no favors in terms of the service or accuracy of your order as we found out.
The dining room floor was dirty. I couldn't see the kitchen, but it is the kind of place where you find yourself running to the bathroom right after you eat. The other restaurants in Estes Park are significantly better...and better value. I would avoid in the future.
I had a great dinner consisting of grilled chicken breast and rice. My dining companion had chicken fried steak. It was a delight to sit on the patio in the back. The service was great and the price was reasonable!
During my family's vacation we ate here and we all agreed it was one of our top favorite resturants while on vacation. They have great burgers! My son tried the buffalo burger and my husband had the elk burger..while the rest of us had beef burgers. They were great. Service was great too. We ate outside as it was cooler than inside and better for more than 4 in a group. Also, you have to specify to get your burger well done...otherwise it automatically is cooked medium rare... pink in the middle, which we don't prefer.
