We were there 9/30/11. Food was terrible and very over-priced for the quality. Waiter tried to make our experience tolerable but it was obvious she knew we were getting poor food. Previously frozen meat and vegetables that was ill prepared.

Absolutely a 5 star! The service was perfectly timed, the presentation was superb and the food was excellent. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavors melted in your mouth. The chef is a true artist. My husband and I agree that the meal was the best we have ever tasted. Don't miss this one!

Okay, first of all the reason I gave this restaurant a 4 is because the decor is SUPER TACKY. I'm the type of person that goes to a restaurant, not just for the food but also for the atmosphere; to get the whole experience. If they made this restaurant more classy inside than it would be perfect. The food it really good - great taste and service was pretty fast. I would recommend this for family dining and couples.

The Wild Rose is a MUST stop for lunch or dinner. The service was great (the delightful wait staff are college exchange students from Europe) the food was exceptional (the owner/chef prepares the food). The second floor seating is spacious and comfy. We stopped in during happy hour and began our meal with two drinks for the price of one and a selected appetizers at reduced price. We had Mondavi Merlot and Baked Brie. Don't pass this one up.

Another favorite. Good food, excellent service and moderate price. Plus being able to look out at main street while dining is a bonus.

Do Not Eat Here
By ,
The Wild Rose Restaurant, on Elkhorn, is quite disappointing. From serving pressed whitefish and calling it crab meat on the menu, to unchewable filet mignion, this eating establishment should be avoided at all costs. The cheese sauce that was loaded on several of our dishes (even when one of the dishes was requested PLAIN) was horrible and ruined the pasta and the FAKE crabmeat. When I did complain about the quality issues to our server, who stated she was in training yet had no one over seeing her, she apologized and then disappeared, leaving us waiting quite a while to receive our check. Also, we had to instruct her through out the service in order to receive the basics of our meal like bread! No one came to our table to offer an apology for the poor food. A dinner for three, without drinks, averages around $70.00 without tip so eating here is not a small mistake. Avoid this joint like the plague!!!

Not Impressed
By ,
The older building itself had its charm. The list of specials were MUCH more sophisticated than the actual menu. A line formed in the hallway outside a restaurant with mostly empty tables. We were first in line to be seated, yet our drink/food order was taken last. The Elk burger was dry. The portions of pasta were tiny. Salad greens were bordering on stale. Will chalk it up to an unfortunate tourist joint.

The lettuce at the salad bar was wilted and brown.
