We've eaten at Austin's American Grill several times and have always had a positive experience. The food has always been hot and very good. We've tried several things on the menu and have yet to find anything yet that we don't like. The servers are always super upbeat and extremely polite. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
We sat at the bar for New Years eve. The draft beer I ordered came in a warm glass ( the glass should be frosted). The first glass of wine my wife ordered was average so we ordered another and that was worse. The wine selection at Austin's is very limited. Only 1 Reisling on the wine list. The dessert was below average. Triple layered cake was dry and the portion was small with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream definitely not worth sharing. The cake tasted like it was made weeks prior, frozen then stuck in a microwave. Maybe a tablespoon of ice cream and a like amount of whip cream on the side. Not worth a return trip.
Austin's is great for so many reasons! The atmosphere, the food and the service to name the big reasons! I love to sit on the patio in the summer and enjoy a mojito, in the winter when it's colder, I enjoy sitting somewhere near the rotisserie to stay warm (and it's just neat to watch!) Speaking of the rotisserie - they're famous for their rotisserie chicken, and once you try it, you'll understand why! It's juicy, tender and full of flavor! They include the chicken in a number of dishes including sandwiches and salads, my favorite being the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich! I cannot recall a time when I didn't have good service, but I tend to dine a little later than the busy dinner rush. I'd recommend Austin's to anyone looking for a great local restaurant!
Had an early dinner on Easter sunday, at the Ft. Collins site and not only was the food terrible but the service was worse. Received our soup and salads with our dinner, when asked if there was any way to hold the dinner for a few minutes since just received soup and salads, the server with an attitude said he could not and had other people to serve and his own work to do!! Mashed potatoes were cold, and the salad was wilted. Never again! Our first and ONLY time. Close your doors or revamp your staff.
The food is delicious and well-prepared. The servers are slow, rude, and dim-witted. Expect your before-dinner cocktail with dinner and your wine with dessert. You will need to find the manager to get the check. There are nuch better choices in Fort Collins. Try Coopersmith's for a good meal and good service.
read the reviews and were excited. must say the service was terrific. the food was not. it was not bad, just very average. must say i've never had lamb that was done, done-overcooked and little taste. my husband's delmonico steak was just ok-nothing you couldn't get at any average or below average steakhouse. kids liked the chicken, but hey, it was chicken. will not go back and would not recommend.
I have been to both Austin's locations here in Fort Collins, and they both are uniquely different. The applewood smoked pork tenderloin and roasted chicken are my 2 favorites off their menu. Great date place!
