Sundeck Restaurant, Estes Park

The sundeck is our favorite-Its always so great-Steaks always perfect-I love their dinner salads-and the homemade dressings-. . .yumm! Vic, (the owner) such a great guy also- Waitstaff very nice-Never have had anything bad from here EVER!!!A must in Estes!Cant wait till next summer- xoxo

We have been going to the Sundeck Restaurant for trout for over 20 years. The family has maintained the quality of the food and the staff. While other items are good, I can never get past ordering their signature trout with homemade soup (not too salty -- I am sensitive to salt) and new potatoes. They fillet the trout at your table and it almost melts under the fork. The atmosphere is casual with lots of warm woods, wonderful mountain sunsets and visiting elk right across the street in the fall. Our annual trip to Estes Park is not complete until we have our Sundeck trout dinner!

Love, just love the Sundeck! The trout is excellent and the Prime Rib is cook exactly as ordered. Friendly wait staff and just a wonderful way to spend an evening.

Some of the best food I've had in Estes Park. They are right on the way into Rocky Mountain National Park and we love to stop by there every time we're up there. Everything I've ordered has been great! The soups are homemade. I think one of my favorites is their garlic artichoke soup. I'm also a big fan of Mexican cooking and their enchiladas and chile rellenos are fantastic. The staff always seems to be nice and attentive. Sometimes the wait can get a little long in the summer though. The first time we stopped by, we had to wait close to an hour. We've made reservations ever since and have had had no trouble getting in. I believe it says somewhere they've been in around for 55 or more years, which always makes eating at a place like that fun since it has a little history. They also have a nice view and once or twice we've had the chance to watch the elk go by outside in the field right across the road!

Awful restaurant.flies everywhere getting on you and your food!!!! I ordered a clam chowder which was actually a potatoe chowder, mostly potatoes barely NO clams. then i got my BURNED teriyaki chicken sandwich. there was no teryaki taste and the bread was falling apart which shows it wasn't fresh and full of butter. I was so pissed off i returned my sandwich, i had a different waiter since ours left in the middle, then the cashier/hostess/manager gave me a bad look and didn't apologize or nothing and was looking at me signing the credit card slip to see how much tip i'm leaving so she could write it in my copy !!! the reason why i went to this restaurant is because of the good reviews it had

Just called to find out when The Sundeck is opening for the season. Found out it will be May 20th, we can't wait. Always one of our favorite places to dine. Food is fresh, fantastic, and just great. Service always friendly and fun. We our the third generation of our family to enjoy this place. They are the bomb.

We were on vacation last year and were recommended by our host to eat at the Sundeck Restaurant because it was one of the better places to eat. Our family ended up eating here at least one meal every day. There menue offered everything from Fresh Trout,steaks,fruit plates,and burgers. All of it was fresh tasting and the servers were great, friendly,and made us feel right at home. By the third time we went there the staff knew what we wanted to drink and remember all of our names. So great food and service made it a place to recommend to our friends.

My husband and I had eaten at the Sundeck twice when we were newly married 15 years ago, so when we vacationed again with the kids last month, we definitely wanted to return to the Sundeck. It did not disappoint. It was just as great now as it was then. I had the trout which was delicious. It was a fun atmosphere and the service was warm and friendly. Highly recommend.
