Overall everything tasted great. I ordered the lobster tail and steak. The lobster was great but the steak wasn't seasoned at all. If you are a fan of steak without a lot of seasoning this is the place for you. Dessert was great. Got the coconut cream pie. Overall would come back but I just would not get steak.
First and foremost: an excellent steak.
Moreover, some of the reviews for Orlando's Steakhouse are from way back when it was operated by different people. Now, the chef is Tandy Brown and he has been cooking steaks for 30+ years. He really knows what he is doing and would never burn a steak.
If you are in Estes Park, it is the best meal in town.
We ordered a steak medium well, but not burned. We asked if they could do that. They said yes.
They couldn't. When they delivered a medium-rare charred steak, we told the waitress. She said she would fix it. So they charred the steak some more. We didn't accept and she said they wouldn't charge anything. They did, but adjusted the bill when questioned. We paid for the other bill and gave a small tip.
As we were leaving, the owner/cook blocked our path and started calling us various obscenities and tried to physically intimidate me (he is tall). He closed with a pearl of wisdom and warned us never to return.
I recommend you follow his advice as well and never go.
Why did Orlando's Steak House close? It was the best restaurant near the Denver area. We've eaten there since our honeymoon 17 years ago and we never had a bad meal there. The food was always awesome. Why did they close? We're very curious to know.
