I've been going to Estes Park minus 4 years since 1960. During that time I've stayed at Olympus Lodge all but 3 years. There have been 3 owners but the place is still the way I love it. If you are looking for a modern, sterile, cookie cutter hotel then go somewhere else. But, if you want a clean, comfortable, historic lodge that still has the charm estes park had in times past with the greatest view in town from your front window or porch then this is the place. There are other nice places to stay but for the relaxed atmosphere (isn't that why we went here to begin with?) especially for the price this is a great deal. If that were not true with as many choices as there are I wouldn't still be going back for this many years. If the place changes so will I but I hope and pray that doesn't happen. May the wind be at your back, the rain stay off your face, and the road be smooth and winding.
The hospitality is great, nice friendly owners. You can check out any of there vhs collection no charge. I stayed in room 1 and this is what I found. Shower/Toilet is in seperate room with Swich on outside of room. Shower is low pressure made for a short person and the temperature fluctuates wildly in a short time frame. Toilet runs and needs monitoring. Sink is by the Bed and is small. No Hair Dryer is there so don't forget to bring your own. View from the room is pretty nice. Miniature golf course across the street is nice. No bolt on Door, handle always locked though. Price was not bad compared to other prices that were available when we stayed, which was Beginning of July 2008. Friendly Continental Breakfast served 8 - 10 am. Bed is very firm. Nice Sitting area, Cozy room.
We just returned home from spending two weeks at Olympus Lodge. We can't wait to return. This morning we missed the beautiful view out our window, the friendly greetings and service by the owners, and the fun waffles for breakfast! The accommodations were perfect for us. The convenience to Rocky Mountain National Park, hiking, golf, restaurants and shops in Estes Park, yet being far enough away from the mass of traffic, made the location ideal for us.
Enjoy guided flyfishing trips in the Rocky Mountain National Park with this outfitter. This outfitter also offers rental equipment and
a full line of quality merchandise. Rapid digital prints and Kodak film are available.
