After 25 years this Loveland jewel is now closed. After our last wonderful meal there the owners shared with us that they are retiring. We wish them the best and hope they enjoy their travels and retirement.

Our family of six had a wonderful experience in this quaint, homey restaurant. The food was excellent and the service, prompt, friendly and welcoming. While the food was a bit pricey (~$20/person), the delicious tastes, experience and ambiance was worth it. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

While the European flavor and quality of the food is pretty good (more about this later), the service is awful. Even though there were only four small groups on a Saturday night that required attention, every group had poor service. We had to order water three times and wait a significant time for its final delivery. One of us ordered coffee that has yet to be delivered. The couple behind us complained aloud about waiting 25 minutes for their order. They finally got up, paid for their meal and took their meals as a “take out.” Albeit one reviewer noted that Lucy and Henry are far better restaurateurs than interior designers, there were also problems with the food that came with the poor service. For example, the very salty pea soup contained still hard uncooked peas, the generic red house wine was delivered cold in a cold frosty glass and the walnut strudel was covered with off shelf chocolate syrup. Co se doma uvaří, to se doma sní.

Just outside Loveland, Colorado, on Highway 34 on your way to Estes Park is, perhaps, the most wonderfully quirky fine-dining restaraunt I've had the privilege to enjoy. The Bohemian Cottage. From the minute you see the green-roofed kwansit hut adorned with hand-painted European images you know this isn't your average, or normal, fine-dining experience. With more than 25 years in this location, and another dozen or so running their restaraunt in their homeland, Henry and Lucy have more than a passion for creating the most amazingly authentic Bohemian fare I've enjoyed on this continent. Once inside, you may wonder what you've gotten yourself into: Huge Wallpaper Murals, pictures and postcards from their worldly adventures, and a menagerie of mismatched European gadgets & gizmos are the primary decor to this quirky and quaint joint. Don't worry ... soon enough you'll realize they are far better restauranteurs than interior designers! Every meal begins with one of Lucy's incredible homemade soups ... it doesn't matter what she's made you'll finish the trough she leaves behind. If you're lucky she's made her ham & lintel! Then, while you're tipping the bowl to get the last drop, you can hear Henry pounding out your schnitzel (and there are a variety of styles to choose from) in the kitchen. Everything is super fresh and prepared to perfection. The Schnitzel, Saurbratens, and goulashes (especially the pork & saurkraut if it's the daily special) are unbelievable and a great choice any time. Feeling wild? Hossenfeffer, elk, or boar is ocassionaly available and truly delicious. And don't forget to leave room for one of their homemade desserts, every one equally delicious and authentic. Best of all, the live entertainment ... when Henry finishes in the Kitchen, he'll, with a little begging, will pull down a guitar and harmonica from the wall and serenade you at your table. This is no run-of-the-mill cookie-cutter chain experience and something everyone should experience at least once in their life. We love it and you will too!!!

Wonderful place, we went there on Sunday April 10, 2011. The food was excellent and the staff/owners (Henry and Lucy) were so friendly and gracious. they even sat down a talked with us. The strudel was awesome and they even put a candle on it because it was our anniversary. The meal was top notch, can't wait to return! This is one of Loveland's best kept secrets.

Quaint, friendly, delicious. Must try the Apple Strudel. My husband is extremly finiky and not one to try new places. He fell in love with the Sourbraten and the Strudel. Will bring out of town guests for a unique experience. Reservations are required.

Authentic, very good food, wonderful hostess and host. They've been there for decades. What more do you want? It's hard to find a Bohemian restaurant and this one is worth looking for. My wife had pork goulash, the special and I had saurbratten. Both were wonderful. We didn't have room for desert but that didn't stop us, the apple streusel was as good as I remember.
