I am not a picky person. I tent camp all the time, so I don't need fancy digs. But really, this place is horrific. We had booked two rooms for a one night stay (Thank God it wasn't longer!) Here were the problems: (1) We didn't have airconditioning even though they adverstise AC in their rooms. (Turns out that only SOME of the rooms have AC. They sent someone to come see why our non-existent AC wasn't working and then admitted there was no AC. I guess they thought we were complete idiots?!) (2) It was disgustingly dirty! The bathrooms were especially nasty. I mean REALLY dirty.(3) Everything is old and very dated. The beds sag. (4) The pool (it's a stretch to call it a pool) cannot be used. It is full of green water and the entire pool area needs to be completely overhauled. This place is a giant rip-off. Avoid it at all costs. Even the morning toast/bagels deal was bad. The bagels were frozen and the toast was stale. Complaints fall on deaf ears. You've been warned.
My family and I visited Estes Park for our cousins wedding. Due to the large number in our party Super 8 was our way to go. Prior to leaving I had read prior reviews on this hotel. 3 for 3 stated that his hotel was very unfit. Upon arrival, we were alerted that our rooms were not together and in the area of the Motel that we had originally booked. This was the least of our problems. We had reserved 5 rooms. Of these 5 rooms there was only one that was in mediocer conditions. Our room conditions went such as this...no swith plates or out let covers, cielings with extreme water damage, 1 roll of toilet paper for the entire 5 day visit, paint on the carpets, dirty linnen, lack of heating fixed by a space heater, and garbage everywhere. Our clencher was when we were sitting outside enjoying the scenery. Everytime a second floor room would flush their toilet or run their room water, the water and waste would flow form the pipes (duct taped together) and out onto the parking lot and into the pool area. Not only was this very unapitizing to see everyday, but very unsanitary. When our party spoke to the night manager he called the owner, and we were very rudely disreguarded. The next day when the owner was on site, he acted as if he knew nothing of our problems. Lastly, the compensation offered for our miserable stay was breakfast for 10 of us. Hello there are 12 in our party. If by chance you do have to stay here, don't stay at a KOA. You will be in a cleaner enviornment and not paying for the filth.
This place was terrible! We got there in the evening--the breakfast area hadn't been cleaned from that morning, the first room he showed us-the lights didn't work, the 2nd room was dirty-gross!! we checked in cause he said we HAD to cause I booked on-line--but we just couldn't stay--tried talking to the guy nicely about letting us out of it--he got very rude-yelled at me in front of other people there, finally agreed to give us half off & let us go. Thankfully theres a great place right down the road we got into & had a wonderful stay. I would NEVER recommend to this place to anyone!
Called and made reservations for King bed - got there and they didn't have one - I was lied to. Settled for two queen beds. Dirty towels, smelly little refrigerator dusty dirty coffee pot, and they only clean the rooms in the early, early morning. You better get up early and leave or you'll be stuck with a dirty room. Just stay away from this place - yeah, the price is cheaper, but I'd rather pay more. Holiday Inn in Estes is very nice :)
I booked the room months in advance and wrote down the room number and all the info I was given. When we arrived they put us in a different room on the backside, it was old and falling apart. The noise from the traffic in and out kept us from sleeping. We didn't have an air conditioner to cover up the noise so we could close our windows as it was warm in our room. We paid the same as those who had air conditioners, not fair. We had guys on the balcony having a party outside because they were smokers and weren't allowed to be inside the room smoking. This party lasted till 2am and we had to get up at 5am. We talked to the manager but he was full of excuses and didn't act like he really cared ( except for when it came to talking money ). After an hour of talking to him he finally credited $50 to our account and said we could come back in two months when its the slow season and stay one night for free. No way will we ever be staying here again. Even a tent would be better than this place. We will stay at KOA next time. Our experience there was fantastic and the people were friendly and very helpful plus the prices are great!! Just have to book ahead but its well worth it!
After driving all night we just stopped at the first string of hotels we ran into (coming in from Loveland). The rooms rates were pretty high ($79 early June) even with the late night discount we received of $69. The room was clean, but dated, and the continental breakfast was very poor. The second night we stayed at the Discovery Lodge which was actually located even closer to the park and offered us a better rate. I would only recommend the Super 8 if you are either a loyal Super 8'er or if all other hotels are booked.
this was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in... we didnt even have toilet paper! it was very dirty hairs in the shower stuff on the walls.. ice machine was broke.. very dirty outside as well as in i wish i would have known!! what a waist of a good vacation!!
For a $115/ night room you expected it to at least be clean. There was a used cotton swab on the floor and under the edge of the bed there was all kinds of stuff, chips, dust, etc. It hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The people that own it are oriental and don't speak english very well so complaining to them fell on deaf ears. There was a void in the floor under the carpet in numerouse areas that made you feel like the floor would collapse. There was a wet spot on the floor that kept reoccuring that the staff would not take care of. The only positive is it was a great place to watch fireworks from our room on the 4th of July. I realize that staying in Estes Park on the 4th of July would be expensive but this hotel does not offer the basics like a clean room. My family has stayed here in the past and it was at least clean. We will not be staying here again. There are many other hotels to choose from.
My sister and her family came out for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Since we all grew up in Estes Park we wanted to spend the week there. We rented rooms and the beds had squirrels in them. We obviously didn't stay. The squirrels were so abundant that when we walked in the door they ran thru the room into the bathroom. Both rooms had them!
