Hearthstone Restaurant, Breckenridge

This is one of our favorite places to have a "date" in Summit County. It's got wonderful food and a cozy atmosphere. Look for off-season 2 for 1 specials.

This is a great place to eat. The food and the service are all top notch. A few of my friends recommended it to me and I am glad they did.

The food is good but the management and service need an overhaul. There is a pompous atmosphere, and if you ever complain, the management gets defensive and rude. The food is overpriced and I will never return due to the service.

We really enjoyed everything we got here. And the setting, in the old house, gave it a nice ambiance. The service was superb! And we noticed locals sitting by us who apparently keep coming back and really liked it. If it's in peak ski season, though, I would recommend making a reservations several days in advance.

My Husband and I dined here after getting married in Breck a few weeks ago and I must tell you, The Hearthstone was by far the best dining experience I have EVER had. They took extra care to make our night special and the food was beyond description. Every dish was delicious and presented beautifully. Well worth every dollar spent. You really must visit this wonderful restaurant.

After a long day of travel to Breckenridge, we were told this restaurant was an outstanding way to start off the trip if you wanted a "casual restaurant" with "great food" that was "kid friendly." I would agree with all of the above, except one should be aware that this is a white-linen cloth table restaurant, so it's not THAT casual, nor is it cheap. Service was very good and the food was outstanding. Appetizers such as mushroom strudel and panko-crusted lobster tail were simply amazing. Entrees such as Alaskan Black Cod and Filet au Poivre were cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. The kids had pasta with butter and parmesan cheese and both of them said it was one of the best ever ($5.95 per plate). Total price for 4 (2 adults and 2 children) was $140 which included a well-deserved 20% tip. Don't miss this place for an extra-special meal!!!!

It's been years since I had been to the Hearthstone, but it's still a solid top-end contender in Breck. The renovated old Victorian home offers dining on two floors, including a small private room on the first floor that can easily hold a large party of 10-12. I was hosting a business dinner for seven. We had an excellent table that allowed us to talk easily. The menu is high end prices ($22-32) but you get a lot for your money with prices including soup or salad. The menus is very diverse with some great wild game (elk and venison) and some unique seafood (arctic char and trout with crab). I opted for the cherry pork chop (outstanding and a bargain at $22). Several others went for steak au poivre and a few others for the trout with crab. Meal presenatation and quality was superb. Service was very good. We did have to wait a bit for our table, but it was worth it in the end to get the spot we had. What I especially liked about the Hearthstone was that it offered a great dining experience with enough formality in the environment, but the casualness of a ski town.

Perfect place for romantic dinner or special occasion. We found it by accident - walked on the street and noticed very nice building which looked like a restaurant. We were right! Very interesting menu - elk, duck, venison together with old well known etries such as steaks and fish. All entries have special touch of the place - dressings, side dishes - nothing usual. Very original appetizers as well including foie gras. They also have 3 course menue + wine pairing for fixed price ($45 per person, if I remember correctly) Excellent service and very nice view out of 2nd floor windows. Reservation recommended after 8pm. we were lucky to get in without reservation, but it was early enough. Good wine selection. The place is not cheap - $100-150 for couple including bottle of wine but it worth every penny.

Great wine list, menu selections, and atmosphere. Food was fabulous. I had the Lamb, hubby had the Blackberry Elk. Just scrumptious! Service was attentive without being intrusive. Wonderful romantic evening.

The restaurant's atmosphere was romantic and lively with superb food. The chef paid attention to detail in the presentation. I have the best chocolate dessert that I have ever eaten.
