The food was amazing. The salads were freshly prepared (no bag lettuce), my steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My husband had the elk and was impressed. Billy provided excellent service. My son loved the barrels upstairs and next time wants to have dinner in them. It was a perfect dinner to top of a great vacation in Steamboat.
Came back to Steamboat after 20 year absence. Remembered Old West as a great, local restaurant. We came in w/o reservations during a busy week and got in with little wait. The salad was great, the steak perfect and the wine decent. Family friendly, casual. Look for the locals here!
Came back several days later with 3 teenagers and had another great experience. Friendly, efficient waitress both times. We really like it here!
This place was terrible. From the moment we walked through the door, it was a horrible experience.
Our reservation was changed when someone with the same name called and made a reservation for a half hour later. When we arrived at our reserved time, we were informed that we no longer had a reservation. Instead of apologizing for the mix up, we were put in the corner of the bar at a tiny table next to a large table of drunk loud tourists. Our waitress didn't even acknowledge our presence for 15 min. once she did, it took another 20 minutes for her to come back and take our order. Meanwhile, people who arrived well after we did already had their food befor we even got a salad.
We finally asked to be moved due to the crowded loud nature of the bar, and were given a snooty attitude by the hostess, and informed that we should have specified that we didn't want to be seated in the bar. When the Manager was called over, he told the waitress to give us our bill, and we coule leave. No attempt to make the experience better, or offer an apology was made, and they expected us to pay for a meal we never even received! Do not go here!
