We are locals and have been here before and had a good experiance. But went again last night for a change. The food was horrible and actually made me sick. even though we ordered apps, all of the food came at once. I was broought a small plate, mostly loaded with rice and very little green chile on a green chile burrito. The waiter seemed very nice and apologetic and even took the apps off of the bill. We paid and left, very dissappointed. Then today, I am looking at my charges online, and they changed my CC for more that what we paid, which included a %15 tip. I will be calling to pseak with their MGR and, needless to say, never eat here again. If you want good mexican and dont mind driving another 15-20 minutes, go to moosehill or tafolinos. At least its authentic and the won't rip you off

As visitors to the Morrison Inn based off of a lot of popularity that we heard over the years, we found ourselves to be very disappointed for various reasons. We found the food to be lacking in flavor. The portions were rather small for the price. The food was very overpriced. If your looking for good Mexican food with reasonable pricing, this is not the place. We were disappointed in all aspects of our dining experience. We would not recommend the Morrison Inn to anyone.

I can't believe you didn't like the food there. I live all of 20 minutes away from M.I. and you couldn't keep me away! I can see how you might be disappointed by the atmosphere given that it's not a black-tie kind of restaurant, but you must know that given it's location it's going to be a little more rustic than most. I LOVE the food there. Your table of 5 must have ordered the wrong thing, and the service might have been slow because the place was packed! Plus, you cannot tell me that all restaurants you have been to have had perfect service. So the waiters were a little less knowledgable than desired...it was probably a high school kid at a job he really didn't want. ALL restaurants have those! Personally I LOVE the chili rellenos and the tacos. I've never had a Marg as I'm usually the DD but all my friends (and my hubby) rant and rave about them. I also HIGHLY recommend the fried ice cream. I've never tasted something so wonderful in all my life! I think you both should try it again and keep an open mind that you could have a bad experience at any restaurant, so you need to give this one a second try!

One of the worst dining experiences ever. I have four things to say about the Morrison Inn, terribly unknowledgeable service, and flavorless food, watered down margaritas and horribly overpriced. Absolutely not worth it!

Bad Bad Bad. I don't know what the other guests were drinking but the Margarittas were nothing but watered down limeade! We were visiting the Morrison area from Kansas City where we have a wonderful selection of excellent Mexican restaurants. Morrison Inn was a terrible disappointment. Food was not good; we had a party of five and nobody enjoyed their meal. Service was slow and food overpriced. Stay away! I have heard that the pizza is good at the Italian restaurant, so go there instead.

Driving through Morrison I've always wondered where the crowds of people are since the road is always lined with park cars. Well my friend, they're at the Morrison inn. All of them. Scruffy mountain men, teens, grandparents, sturgis teddy bears, and then those of us that fall in between. Inside it feels mountainesce with the woody decor, with ample dining space but I was surprised the bar wasn't larger. It also appeared that there was a room specifically for video games and quarter machines. Girls be care when you the bathroom, Open the door and right in front is the commode. Yup with a bit of bad luck you could be showing your yayas to the whole town. The boy orders a Marg, I take a sip, then get myself one. A hint of the tequila and not too much mix. If we weren't on our way to the pumpkin patch we would've stayed and drank Margs till we were silly. Food came quickly after it was ordered. Don't fill up on the re-fried beans and rice, it's not worth it. The ground beef enchilada was good but could've had more gooey cheese on top (can you really ever have enough melty cheese?) The chili relleno was spicy and stayed intact while slicing though it. My burrito was decent too. My comparison is grub I could make at home but slightly better. I've been told that there'll be a subsequent trip in the future for the deep fried ice cream.

surprisingly good food

When you first walk in you are wondering what you walked into. However, when you get past the bar and sit down at your table things get better. The food was actually pretty good, and the Marg's were awesome.

A small town experience
By Jeramyn, 6/20/06
A great small bar/restaruant with amazing margaritas! Their cuisine is above par with a couple of unique choices. Definitly a good place to relax and have a tasty margarita!
