One of the most noticeable landmarks on the Pearl Street Mall , the Boulder Cafe occupies a beautifully refurbished Victorian building. While the bar and dining room exude a stylish air, the ambiance is casual. The outdoor patio is perfect for people watching. Fondue is the house specialty, but the pizzas, piled with fresh toppings on a crispy thin crust, are also excellent. The weekend brunch is popular and includes a tasty Eggs Benedict.
awful food, awful service, not to mention, the man who delivered our food was very rude. As he delivered our food, we ordered a few drinks, that never came to the table, i do believe this man was in management, older man, dressed like a street person on Pearl Street. One might wonder why some restaurants in Boulder you may wait hours to actually sit down at a table, Needless to say we will not be back, and a little advice to the owner, your management team should be dressed to impress, not some old ratty polo. And to this specific manager, good luck in your career in the hospitality industry, I am a district manager for a large restaurant chain with over one hundred locations over the country, I would rather give a 20 year old kid with no experience a job than a man obviously in his mid to late 30's with a very poor attitude, Your co-workers may like you alot but you are very unprofessional, and i would never hire you, not even as a dishwasher. We were in late friday night, probably around nine oclock, I dont recall this man's name, tall man, bald, and very rude. Thanks,
Been going to happy hour for year's at the Boulder Cafe. Over the past few year's i have seen a sharp decline in overall business and quality. I was in last week, the server was rude, the service was slow, and the food was about average. As i walked by a group of employee's standing there doing nothing (we waited ten minutes for WATER!) one employee stank of marijuana, the bartender's were drinking alchol behind the bar yet, we waited 10 minutes for water and our drinks arrived 9 minutes after that. I can honestly say i will never be back! With other great hh's in the area(the med, brasserie 1010, even walnut brewery has a half off happy hour) you people at the Boulder Cafe have ruined a great thing. I remember when it was alot of fun.
We had the unfortunate experience of eating at the Boulder Cafe last night. They said that there would be a long wait, but offered that we could eat at the noisy, small bar right by the door. So, we sat at the bar and had a drink and then ordered our food. As soon as we finished ordering the food, the hostess came and told us there was a table for us, BUT that we could not have it if we didn't order any more food. Even though we had just ordered and not received anything. Our food arrived 90 minutes later and was cold. Nothing was comped.
Terrible food, terrible service, terrible atmosphere, terrible policies.
Boulder Cafe has some of the better food deals for happy hour in town, and their patio is also great for people watching. I agree that the service can be less than stellar at times, but if you're just looking to hang out and have some beer and appetizers, this is a good place to do it.
hi i,m a local , and the service ,staff does not have a clue on how to treat customers, the hostess was the most unfriendly i have come across , if you don't want to work in the services industry , then get a different job
there are plenty of places to spend money in boulder ,
DO NO GO HERE !
wake up staff,
Rotten customer service. The server did not make eye contact with me once and never asked how my food was or if I needed anything else. I never received a refill on my beverage, and the only time anyone came by was to dump my check on the table. In fact, I may have heard an audible grunt when I told the server I wanted water to drink. And the dried sauce he had smeared on the corners of his lips did nothing positive for the ambience...or my appetite. Small portions of ho-hum food with little menu selection. With so many outstanding restaurants to choose from in the area, why bother settling for disappointment?
