Located near the Pearl Street Mall, this gem of a restaurant is like wandering around only to find Bruce Wayne's Bat Cave. It is worth finding, however, for it offers great Italian fare at great prices. Bright flags hanging from the high ceiling cast an Italian Alps type feel to the room. The ambiance is both urban and casual. Pizza is the main draw and features odd topping choices such as shrimp, artichokes and chopped clams. Specialty items include Chicken Fettuccini and Stuffed Shells. All of the pasta is homemade. The outdoor patio is the place to be during warm weather.
Great prices and huge portions of yummy food in a light and airy setting. This family owned restaurant has been doing it right for 50 years! I ate here as a kid with my parents and now I bring my own children. My favorites: Pesto crusted salmon salad, homemade egg noodles with spicy marinara sauce (I toured the kitchen with a school group and saw the steam kettle as big as a hot tub where the sauces are simmered.) and the made in house fresh mozzarella on a crispy thin crust pizza. The service is gracious and attentive; a rare combo these days. Insider tip: go during Happy Hour and make a bargain meal from their extensive reduced price tapa menu. Don't miss the Sangria and garlic rolls hot out of the oven!
