Macaroni Grill sets the bar pretty high but this restaruant really delivered a step above! I am very rarely impressed by an Italian place but WOW! We showed up at 9:00 on a Friday night and only had to wait 5 min for a table and it was more than worth it!
I had read good reviews and thought we would be going to an authentic, tasty, local Italian restaurant. Instead, we encountered a very mediocre meal, lazy service and uncomfortable seating. I have bever been to an Italian restaurant where I've had to ask the waitress for a spoon to eat my spaghetti with! The salad was slathered with ranch dressing, so much so I could hardly see the lettuce, let alone taste it! What happened to a nice Italian balsamic dressing?! This place was so uncultured, sloppy and complacent - what a shame - it could be so good - Denver/Lakewood is crying out for some culture!
This is absolutely, positively my favorite restaurant in the world! Try the Gnocchi. Can be tough to get a table. They seem to be on a wait every night. They're that good. Most entrees are less than $12. Great wine menu too. Ask for the house, and you will not be dissapointed!
Even though they more than doubled their size 7- 8 years ago, it's still hard to get into at lunch/dinner time. That only speaks to the popularity of the place and believe me, it's well worth the wait!
My dad heard great things about this place but, in my experience, it was nothing great. Seating time was great and the service was attentive but, unfortunately, that's all the good things I have to say for the cafe. The garlic bread was hard, small, and not that great. The salad I got had iceberg lettice that was so brown even a color blind person who couldn't see the color would notice. And whoever made it, covered it up by putting the good stuff on top and the sides. It was not nice to be misled like that. The tortellini I got looked nice and tasted good but the sauce was basic and the meal was filling but nothing grand. I could have got something like it at another restaurant and there wouldn't be any difference between the meals. My mother got lasagna that just had a tomato sauce and noodles, again nothing great. My dad got the chicken and eggplant meal, the chicken was the thinnest piece of chicken I've ever seen in my entire life. Doubt I will go back there again, its just not worth the gas or the price.
We have eaten at Cafe Jordano's a few times and we returned last night hoping the service had improved. Our food was good, but the service was horrible. For this being a family owned restaurant they have no clue how to be hospitable with their guest.
