About fifteen years later Mike decided he needed a change of life, I think they call that a mid-life crisis! He moved the family out to Colorado and decided to open up a pizzeria. M.C.'s Pizza by the Slice was originally started in Lakewood, CO, November 1997. Mike was supposed to run the business but eventually he did need help from his family, so it slowly evolved into a family business run by the four east coasters. After 7 years, an opportunity for a better location opened up in Littleton. So the Colella's packed up and moved locations October, 2004.
MC's is the perfect pizzeria. We used to frequent Virgilio's when they first opened. What a mistake. Not only have we experienced a steady decline in taste and quality, but the owner of that pizzeria is crude and arrogant! After witnessing this business owner think nothing of continuously screaming profanity at his employees (in a family atmosphere) and embarrass himself publicly (I'll spare you the details) we decided to take our money elsewhere.
Brooklyn MC's Pizza is a vast improvement on what we had come to expect at Virgilio's The servers were hardworking, friendly and attentive! (How refreshing.) The sauce is sweet and tangy, the crust is thin and crisp, and the calzones are generously portioned and savory as well. This family puts out a quality product that has won our loyal business. We are happy to support small business owners who are sincere and family oriented.
Bleah. When it's made by the old man and it's fresh, it's acceptable. But when the kids make it, you're eating pizza that's hours old. No thank you. Gave it enough chances to firmly say I will never eat there again.
Pizza the way it should be. If that was all they did it would be enough. But they step up with a full menu of Italian favorties. I used to eat here regularly when they were farther up north on Wadsworth, but I lost track of them when they moved. I'm exstatic that I stumbled back upon them. I refuse to eat pizza anywhere else now.
Have you ever tried a meatball/eggpland calzone? GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR A** AND TRY ONE AT MC'S! Hands down the best pizzaeria in Colorado! Moving from the East Coast I know good Italian. Don't settle for chain pizza.. You wouldn't order Domino's in NYC? What would you in CO? Spread your wings and support local mom/pop businesses..
The best Italian in the world! From the pizza to their mouthwatering calzones, everything is made from scratch! Owned by Italians and made by Italians I have to honestly say this is the best quality you are going to find and cheap as hell!!!! Thank God for this place!
