I love Thai food but I didn t care for the food at this place. The plates were pretty but the style of food was not what I was looking for and the price seemed a little high. I suppose there is more than one style of Thai food, but I have been to several places in Thailand and great Thai restaurants in other countries around the world and had a Thai roommate for a while and always loved the food and never saw Thai food quite like this. I prefer to go to Jumbo Thai on Kipling St or sometimes Pad Thai on Wadsworth.
Despite some of the bad reviews, my wife and I decided to give it a shot. We love it. We have ordered delivery from here many times and we try to have something new every time. I can't complain at all.
I live just down the street from this place and have been there several times. They have some excellent dishes and some extremely poor dishes. Some of the dishes I liked from there were: Grilled Beef Salad, Lettuce Wraps, Moon Harbor, and their Lo Mein. I thought their Pad Thai was some of the worst I have ever tasted, same with the chicken in peanut sauce. Don't go here expecting good traditional Thai food.
I don't understand why people like this place. I try to give it a shot every year or so and the outcome is always the same. Everything taste the same and is slimy like it was sitting in a bin all day. Which it might be considering it only takes about 3 minutes to get your food. Go to Taste of Thai for some good fresh thai cuisine on Hampden.
Talk Of The Thai (TOTT) is one of the best new restaurants in the metro area. The menu contains Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese offerings and they do all of them well, but they do the Thai the best! The Pad Thai has a wonderfully creamy sauce with just the right seasonings - not too hot. The Pad Se Lew is just chewy enough and the flavor is spot on. If you are trying to eat healthy, try to Grilled Chicken Salad, or if you are adventurous, try the spicy Thai Beef Salad. If you are on a budget go at lunch time. You get plenty of food for a price that won't cost too much. If you prefer dinner, go early because this place is no longer a neighborhood secret and the small number of tables fill up quickly.
