great food, a bit over hyped, service was sort of slow

Be prepared for some attitude!! The hostess at the door was not very friendly when we arrived for dinner on Tuesday night (it was packed, on Tuesday?!). And the bartender at the bar further in the back could hardly contain his snobbish attitude! However, our server was very nice, helpful and attentive, and the food was fantastic!! The nigiri sushi melts in your mouth! They have a nice selection of vegetarian options, like the portabella rolls (2 pieces), which were to die for!! We had to order another plate of those! If you opt for dessert, the kabocha (japanese pumpkin) creme brulee is absolutely delicious! Prices are up there (portabella rolls, 2 pieces, $5) but all in all worth it, if you can get past the initial dose of uppity attitude (some sake helps!)

It's alright, not terrible, but not worth all the hype. You will wait for an hour to get in. I would call it average, but for some reason it's very popular, but then again so is Benny's mexican restaurant, and that place is nasty.

I agree with the others who say it's overrated, it is. The wait was unbelieveable, and they seated an ex-employee's entire family with no regard to all the patrons who had been waiting for an hour with or without reservations! When some of the patrons expressed a problem with this to the manager, she didn't offer an apology in any way,shape, or form. Why we didn't leave at that point, i don't know, so it's my own fault for being totally dissatisfied with the service, the manager, the cleaniness, the wait, and honestly the food wasn't that great. In agreement with some other reviewers, yes, even a small dive has better sushi. I will not recommend Sushi Den to anyone.

This restaurant is overrated. They do a good job hyping themselves up claiming that all they're sushi is from japan, but the fact is that only a few items actually come from Japan and there are other sushi bars in town that could make the same claim

Come on guys, everyone knows the wait is long! Doesn't mean the food is not worth the wait because it definitely is! I have had a lot of sushi in this town and this place had the best ever! I have to agree about the noise though, it was inordinately noisy. We sat at the bar however and the experience became very wonderfil,. Great staff, and I loved our sushi chef Carlos! Will definitely go there again when I save up enough cash!

I will say the sushi was fantastic. So I have no issue with the food. The wait is mind-boggling. Last time we went there were 8 of us and they still wouldn't take a reservation and we waited for about an hour. Like many places in Denver these days it is very loud too. Maybe I'm getting old but I am less and less enchanted with high quality, high priced restaurants sounding like my college cafeteria. I don't like screaming over food. And sushi especially is meant to be enjoyed calmly. The service was good, but a bit harried. I have had equally good or better sushi elsewhere in Denver where the seating and the atmosphere were more conducive so I don't know if I'll be back at the Den any time soon.

sushi is ok... but gotta take off stars for the long wait. Why does this place not take reservations? I went on my birthday, which was a Thursday night. Showed up at 7, was seated at 9... NEVER AGAIN!!!!

I am originally from Baltimore and fresh seafood is what we are known for. When I moved out to Colorado I told myself that I would not eat seafood because I knew it wouldn't be as good as back east. Needless to say I needed to get my sushi fix and I wasn't going back east anytime soon. I went to this place last night and the food was awesome. Even if your not a sushi eater then you would still have a good time. From wonderful service to good eats, you can't go wrong. Try it out and you won't be disappointed. It was so good I may be going back again this week.........
