Beauty. Simplicity. Flavor. These three words succinctly describe Highlands own Coral Room. Coral Room was established in 2002 and has been a cornerstone in North Denver ever since. Coral Room has brought a creative, comfortable, and fun American Bistro to the exciting Highlands neighborhood. Whether you are looking for a great happy hour, intimate dinner, brunch with friends, or just a unique glass of wine at the famous horseshoe shaped bar, Coral Room is the place to go. The Coral Room reflects a unique balance between form and function. The menus are focused on healthy, creative dishes that are value oriented. It is always the goal of the chefs to use local, all natural, and organic ingredients wherever possible. Named one of Denver's Best Restaurant/Bars by the Rocky Mountain News. Located in Highland's Square at 32nd and Lowell.
Went here on a Saturday night. Great food and service. A few people in my group were vegetarians, and they greatly enjoyed their meals. The restaurant is located in a sort of strip mall, which was surprising, but the interior was beautifully decorated and intimate. Will definitely visit this restaurant again!
I went to Coral Room the other day for the first time, and was quite impressed. It's a trendy fusion cuisine place, with many Asian-inspired dishes. I happened to be there during happy hour (5pm-6:30pm weekdays) when appetizers are buy one get one free.
I tried the Watermelon/Kiwi/Kaffir-Lime soup, coconut tempura white prawns, herb gnocchi, summer rolls, red curry, and some sort of banana brule/chocolate desert. Everything was wonderful, though I was particularly impressed with the herb gnocchi. It had a melody of flavors that one doesn't encounter very often.
Price-wise, Coral Room is very reasonable for the quality of food they provide. They also do not play the 'stuff you into submission' game that many restaurants do. The portions are perfectly-sized (at least for my 6', 170lb frame). There isn't too much nor too little food. I dined with another person during my visit, and the total between us was approximately $50. Remember, this was for multiple appetizers, a shared main dish, a desert, drinks, and a desert wine.
If you live or happen to be in the Denver area, you won't be disappointed with Coral Room!
The appetizers were really good. I had giant sea scallops and calamari. They have local draft beers too. I went for happy hour & the people at the bar were friendly and the staff provided excellent service. The decor felt relaxing and made me feel welcome.
