Chi mangia bene, vive bene (Those that eat well, live well) Award-winning Panzano and Chef Elise Wiggins offer the best in contemporary Northern Italian cuisine featuring local, organic, sustainable ingredients with uncompromising service and an award-winning wine list in a stylized urban setting inspired by the Italian streetscapes and terracotta tile roofs of Renaissance Florence.
While the decor at Panzano is nice, if you get seated anywhere near the open kitchen areas, be prepared for lots of loud noise.
The particular night we went, our waiter was definitely in the weeds and service was slow and inattentive.
Food was on the whole pretty good, although my dish was supposed to have canellini beans and they were definitely lupini beans, which are larger, drier, and less tasty. When I brought this up he denied that they were the wrong beans.
Wow was the food good here. Of course we walked in expecting it to be expensive, and it was, but everything we ate was fantastic. The mushroom crepe appetizer was our best, and the dinners we had (both dinner specials) were amazing. We ate at the chef's counter so it was fun to watch everybody cook and we even chatted up Chef Elise as well. I highly recommend this place for any sort of special occasion, or if you're just looking to show people something that's Denver-ish.
The food here was Amazing and the service was great too. The wait staff does a great job of watching you and only coming over when they see that you need something. I didn't feel like they were trying to rush us out the door like most places do. Well worth the money!
If you like shows like top chef and iron chef you will like this place. It is a very nice resturant except the hotel guest some time use it as an exit. The food is good (could be better) and is prepared in a colorful manner. The chef and the mannager come out and talk to you. It is too expensive for the taste of the food
Panzano's food was excellent (the appetizers were our favorite). The wine list was extensive, albeit full-priced (they have a Wine Spectator award for excellence). The decor was very nice, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. I will DEFINITELY dine there again every time I'm in Denver. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED A+++++.
My wife and I enjoy sitting at the Chef's table and watching the cooks while we eat. The grilled Ceasar salad is a must share, or keep it all to yourself. The sauces are excellent and this is one of Denver's finer restaurants.
terrible meal there today. Veal was pink in the center, yet completely chewy and fatty on the edges. Sundried tomatoes had horrid texture, about choked on one. Gnocci were greasy and overbrowned. Cappacino was served barely warm. Waitress was determined to boost our ticket sales by adding on unwanted salads--not too attentive to us. UHHHGG.
Other wait staff were very wonderful though.
