A hot spot in Lodo, Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, famous for its original Boulder location, entices palates with Mexican fare and potent margaritas. Outdoor seating is available, making it one of the city's prime time people watching locations. The menu features traditional Mexican dishes such as burritos, tacos, and tostadas, as well as Yucatan shrimp and steak fajitas. Its margaritas are legendary for their "what-hit-me" strength. Customers are limited to three in one sitting.

A friend and I went to Rio Grande for a margarita; the margarita's are huge! Even the small ones. Great atmosphere, a little packed on Saturday nights, so if you want a table or seat at all get there early...

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant

Best margaritas in Denver - hands down. The lunch menu is good considering this restaurant is best known for its marg's. I always get the chicken burrito with green chile (mild) because the hot salsa will melt your tongue.

Still the best Mexican food in Downtown

The Rio is still a great place to have a meal or a drink. the margaritas are known all over and they do pack the punch, though not quite as much as they used to. The nachos and all the other food is great.

The food is good, great salsa and hot/fresh chips! The drinks are great margaritas even for the person who doesn't like to drink however they are a little potent. Good food and fun place to eat!

Great Mexican Food

The salsa is great and the chips are just the right thickness. They come out hot and fresh. The service is fast and the food very good. I tried the fajitas and was very impressed. It was way too much food for me to finish.

Great for after work drinks...Cheap food and a grouchy staff makes this Mexican joint slightly better then a Little Tijuana.

Visited Colorado middle of August and Rio Grande was on our list of places to eat.....was not disappointed. Margaritas were great and food was very good - very fresh tasting tortillas - our server was excellent and very friendly. Would love to have a Rio Grande here in Indiana.

Great place!

Been there twice now and was impressed. Almost as good as my favorite place back home, but not quite. The wait staff is friendly and fun which makes it a great atmosphere. The green chile is excellent! Can't say much for the red sauce and such since I don't really like it much in the first place and I only get smothered in green chile. However, what I've had is great and I look forward to going back and trying other things!
