Trendy and hip aptly apply to this happening nightspot just south of downtown. It combines a neighborhood atmosphere with an urban style making it popular with artists and businesspeople alike. Plus, it offers a rocking jukebox and one of the most attractive wait staffs in the city. A back room features two pool tables and a few video games. The menu offers sandwiches, burgers and several ambitious salads including the Mayan. The blackened catfish is superb. Live music, usually jazz or acoustic, fills the air on Saturdays.
I love the food at the Hornet. The atmosphere is nice and hardly bar-like at all. The service is always good. The weekend bruch is decent as well. Overall, it is a great place to hang out with friends or to go solo for a quick bite.
The Hornet is great for place for a quick eat or to hang out with friends before a movie. The Hornet is in a great central Denver location. The menu seems to change every couple of months; I don't know what happened to the fish tacos - one of my favorites.
I have been eatinghere for over a decade. The current chef is outstanding! The food is delicious with great presentation. You can't get anything like it in Denver without paying double. They have a happy hour, terrific waitstaff, and food that will keep you coming back.
