Just the fact that this common-looking sub shop, The Spicy Pickle has managed to survive downtown's competitive dining scene is remarkable, but even more remarkable is that in less than two years it has managed to create a huge following. Its ability to offer mmm-this-is delicious type sandwiches is its draw. All subs come on Italian loaf bread and offer an amazing array of options including 12 meats, 14 spreads and 13 cheeses. The panini sandwiches are just as popular. All food is counter-ordered.
I love these sandwiches. I get in ruts, and eat alot of the same stuff. Spicy Pickle allows me to get creative. Every sandwich there is really well thought out. I would recommend this store over Subway or Quiznos any day.
The pickles are what hooked me, thanks to a co-worker who brings back extras, but once I actually tasted the sandwiches.... MMMMMMMMMMMM!!! I'm hooked on the Gobbler, which is turkey, artichoke hearts, feta cheese and sun dried tomato mayo... Haven't been able to bring myself to try any others, since I'm so hooked on this one!!! 10th and Lincoln in Denver is the only location I've tried so far, but there's apparently one in Ft. Collins too... If there's one near you, be sure to give it a try!
Since I found the Spicy Pickle, I've found myself returning frequently. The quality and variety of ingredients far exceeds any other sandwich chain that I've found. The great flavors of the sandwiches really become apparent when I end up going to another sandwich shop, like Subway. There is simply no comparison! This is a must try!! You'll see why they've won awards from 5280 Magazine several times.
I LOVE the Spicy Pickle. I'm not usually into sandwiches but theirs are special. They have so many choices of fixings, you can try something totally different every visit. The menu is really amazing. When I worked walking distance from a Spicy Pickle I used to go every day. I didn't actually try the whole menu because I kept coming up with a new favorite and then eating that all the time for weeks. But it's funny, I love pickles but I have a love-hate thing with their spicy kind. Oh well, it's all good.
When I go to lunch at school many times we will stop by the Spicey Pickle and have lunch there. You just can't avoid it, with sanwiches that melt in your mouth and a pickle to go with it is just perfect. You have your choice of dining inside or out on the patio, you make your order and then you sit down and bring you your food, the price of thier huge sandwiches and a drink are about the same as burger king and you can sit relax enjoy the sun and have a great sandwich.
About the zestiest pickle that I've ever had, an interesting side to the wonderful sandwiches.
I know where I am going to lunch tommorow! (got me craving it, now)
The interrior is lively and upbeat, but I take my food back to work, and don't get to admire it for long. :-(
Have to wait for another year till my son can join me (he loves it) for lunch, next summer.
