Reviews for Illegal Pete's - Happy Hour, Denver: 10

Good food but could REALLY go without the attitude! I've only been to the downtown Denver location but the employees there seem to have a common theme of a bad attitude. Sorry kids, but the food ain't that good and there are plenty of other really good Mexican food restaraunts very close. Skip it.
Was used to going to Chipolte tell a friend turned me on to this place. Much better than Chilpote and you can get your burrito in a bowl and then they give you a tortilla as well. If you get a bowl, looks like they even give you more than wahts comes in the burrito. Astmosphere was great and again, during lunch there is a line, but the staff tries to get what you want as fast as possible so you have time to eat it and go back to work. Great place!
This is so much better then Chipotle Grill!!!! There are several salsas to choose from and the burritos are HUGE! You can also order quesadillas and other Mexican food. I go back every time I am in Denver!!
What makes this place better than the bigger burrito joints around Denver is the simple fact that you get your burrito ingredients all mixed up before it fully wrapped. You get to enjoy the flavor of all the ingredient in each bite. Thats not all though. Their extra hot sauce is one of the spiciest I've ever eaten, yet full of flavor. I don't think a week has gone by in 3 years where I havn't gotten a burrito, quesadilla or tacos from Illegal Pete's.
Tortilla good, meat good, quac good, extra hot salsa decent. Tastes are subtle and compliment each other unlike Qdoba's fast food flavor. Much better ambience than Chipotle and Qdoba, and it's local (Boulder) based! Still not near as good as real Bay Area burritos, but a permissable alternative.
