Paris on the Platte Cafe & Bar
Just across the Platte River from downtown, this happening spot has quietly endured the upscale changes of the neighborhood and remains a hip coffee house for young and old patrons alike. Artwork, Internet access and a connecting bookstore give this coffee shop a cultivated countenance. A late night menu and live entertainment keep the place active. The food is fast but fresh, and among the favorites are the grilled three-cheese sandwich and the roast beef wrap. Fresh fruit and vegetarian items abound.
Good coffee, but last time I went you couldn't smoke downstairs anymore, and no one came to serve me and my sister for 30min! Not even a menu, WTF? I used to go all the time, but they have gone downhill. Coffee I bet is still outstanding, but if you can't even order it, what's the point?
Customer service is not a known concept at Paris.
But it's always been a place near and dear to my heart.
I really miss the old bookstore/tobacco shop section.
Kids have always loved this place and there's tons of em'.
But they're good kids and I'd rather them be here reading Bukowski than somewhere up to no good.
It's a great place for people who want to have the urban coffee house experience. Free WiFi and it's open late.
I hope it never goes away. Vive Paris.
This store has a really interesting atmosphere and I love it. I haven't eaten there before but they have really good chai. The people who work there are always friendly to me and I've always had fairly quick service. I'm going back.
My friend and I went in to Paris yesterday around 3pm. There was no line at all when we ordered our two cold sandwiches to go. The waitress barked at my friend, who ordered her sandwich verbatim from the menu. Apparently, the menu was printed incorrectly. After 30 minutes, I approached the register again to see if our order was coming. The waitress waved me off, assuring me the sandwiches were on their way out. The chef in the back looked stoned and seemed not to care about the number of order tickets accumulating on his spin-around. After 45 minutes of waiting, our sandwiches were brought to us. They tasted alright, but not worth the 45 minute wait. We walked past several angry customers on the way out as we vowed never to return. The staff at Paris wouldn't understand the meaning of customer service (or any multi-syllable phrase for that matter) if it was tattooed in black across their foreheads.
Paris is one of the few places left in Denver where one can smoke inside (due to the fact that they are also zoned as a tobacco shop). Great place to smoke, drink coffee and write or mess around on the laptop. Pretty good food too.
Me and my best friend love coming here. The service is really nice. It's a very laid back little restaurant w/ a variety of different kinds of music. The coffee is awesome! Our fave is the Cafe Mexicano. We've tried several different types of food such as the veggie board, sundaes, sandwiches and salads. The sandwiches have been very tastey and toastey (which i love). My only dislike is that it can get quite chilly in the restaurant so come with a hoodie. This is our favorite place to hang out downtown!
I have hung out at pairs for twelve years, tonight i was treated badly by the staff. as a regular i expect better treatment. The staff poorly cared for me and was rude to my companions. they had a snowball fight that could have ruined over ten thousand dollars in computer equipment. I will not be going back.
