Sushi Wave is as good as it gets inside the US. I have been going there almost 10 years. It was better 8 years ago, but so was the economy. The dinner $25 all -you can eat was unbelievable deal.
I was stationed in CA and the Western Pacific.
Service is great, people very friendly.
The person that trashed Sushi Wave is typical California person that ruined Denver. Everything is better in CA. So don't come back.
i live in ca, and eat sushi all the time, i know what fresh sushi is, this place's sushi is so old its salted, i though i was eating lox. i didnt get sick or anything, maybe i went there on a bad day. i dunno, i was just visting denver for a week i checked out a few places, and this was terrible. serivce and enviorment are nice though. i will NEVER go back. my advice if you check it out is to only order one roll your first time, that way you can judge for yourself.
I'm confused by the guy who rated it three stars. He only had good things to say including that he plans on coming back but only rated it a 3 star. I personally would not go to anything I rated a 3 star so???
Anyway, the sushi is inexpensive and very good. Very popular with the DTC lunch crowd. It has a neighborhood restaurant feel - as much as a sushi restaurant in Denver can. Specifically the sushi bar, the atmosphere is dark and casual. The sushi chef's are nice but not too talkative compared to other sushi bars. Personally think it's the best sushi in south Denver.
They have some nice lunch time deals for sushi, still not cheaper then 5 dollars but for sushi it's nice. They also have a box luch for 6.95 which sounds tempting. I will be trying that out next time I go.
Sushi Wave is a safe bet for good Japanese cuisine at reasonable prices. Having been a patron there for many years I have yet to have a negative experience. If we are int he mood for Japanese during lunch or do not want to drive far for dinner Sushi Wave is an easy choice!
Warning the parking lot it is in is more than a little tight and busy.
