Efrain's Mexican Restaurant, Lafayette

Disappointed, We are new to the area and had heard great things, it is always packed. We stopped by and tried. Even when we told the waitress that we were new in town she seem put out that we would ask questions about the menu. I had Uno my enchilada was good but the beef and bean taco was just ok and the tostata (sp) was not good. Wife's Chicken Fajita was cold.

Since I stuck up for Stan's, I ought to address AN's racist rant against Efrain's. The service may not ALWAYS rock, but the food does, the margs DEFINITELY do, and more importantly, I'm thrilled to read that the owner bought the old Plum Tree and is FINALLY going to give Lafayette a breakfast joint. Don't let a couple party poopers who can anonymously post crap scare you...it's worth a try...then worth going back. Just for shameless cross-posting, you Efrain's fans who are also fans of Stan's need to address AN's hateful comments on their review page as well! If I lived in PA, I'd feel bad for the pizza place AN hates. I think he or she must be a miserable person who hates EVERYTHING....look at the reviews under that login!

Used to be alot better, 10 people were waiting in line and a mexican family of 5 came up and were seated immediately??, that particular visit we waited 50 minutes for our food?, Service has gone down, food is worse, we now go to El Senor Sol at 95th and Arapahoe, better service, better food and people are seated on a first come first serve basis and not by race.

Alright, so I must agree that the service is a hit or miss situation. The food though is incredible, personally I have never had a bad meal come out from the back. They have wonderful cooks and every meal is cooked from the heart and is always enjoyable. The service on the other hand can be off on days and on - on others. This is a restaurant I have been going to for a long, long time and my mother has been frequenting it since they opened over twenty years ago. I am going to try and get a job waiting at the restaurant and hopefully I will be the one that will make the service part of the restaurant come to life, because I will serve the customers how they deserve to be served if you're going to earn yourself a tip. Overall though the food in general makes up for the service part and I will continue going there for years to come because I could not just stop going there because of the service being slow. Also though in since I have been going there with my family so long they tend to take more care of us for some reason, which I do enjoy but I wish that they would make people want to come back through being amazing waiters to everyone else. That's all I can say really about Efrains, but I hope people will give it another chance sometime and see if they enjoy it a second time around even if the first was not up to their standards.

We've been to this place 3 times in the past month...my husband is hooked on the Chile Verde. I agree with the previous posters that the service is not always the best, but the food is great and we've been able to get a table right away even though it's been fairly busy every time we've been there. The kids menu leaves something to be desired. The cheese quesadilla and cheese enchildada were pretty much the same thing, cheddar cheese melted on a flour tortilla and my son didn't like either one. He prefered the taco off the kids menu.

Yes, the food is great, and they have more than one location. Service at the Lafayette location is simply horrible!!! We know that if we are going there for dinner, expect to be there a long time because it takes forever and a day to get out of there. Waiters and waitresses have no personality and border on rude. Neglect of customer needs is another issue. You can't eat hot chile and not have you glass filled on a regular basis. We have even gotten up and filled our own water glasses! Change the service, I will change my reveiw!
