Benihana - Broomfield
Prepare for a dining experience unlike any other. Watch as your personal chef performs the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Listen as razor-sharp blades slice through tender steak and juicy chicken. Take in the aroma of sizzling shrimp, lobster and savory vegetables. Or visit our sushi bar, where your sushi chef will prepare fresh nigiri, sashimi and specialty rolls, all with the same flair that made Benihana a legend in Japanese cuisine.
I have eaten at several Japanese hibachi style steak houses all over the country and have always had more food then I could eat. I went to Benihanas in Broomfield today for my birthday and couldn't believe the small amount of food served for the price. Payed 70 dollars for my wife and I and walked away hungry and feeling ripped off. I will never step foot there again.
We were very disappointed last night at this restaurant. We frequent a Benihana's several times a year, and most specially when we entertain guests and clients. Our bill last night was 289.00 pre-tip. We always enjoy our experience, and this is money well spent.
Last night the ENTIRE staff was awful. When we arrived (with reservations), there were only 2 tables with ANY people in them. Yet, it took over 15 minutes for us to get our drinks and an order in for sushi. I actually had went to the restroom, saw our waiter leaning on the bar (after leaving us alone for 10 minutes), and when EXITING the restroom, had to ask him to at least come take our sushi/appetizer order.
The cook knew absolutely NOTHING Japanese, and was completely lifeless. The presentation of our meal was just outright boring, even thought the quality of the food was good. It's almost uncomfortable to sit in front of, and be cooked for by someone not qualified, and especially not exited about doing this job...
The worst part was when we asked to speak to the manager. (11/04/2009, @ 7:00PM MST). He didn't care in the least that we were unhappy, and expressing our thoughts about how this once very fun place to go had slid so far. He actually told us that 'this was not how they did things anymore', and 'they NEVER' had this kind of atmosphere', and basically just sent us on our way with NO apologies at all. In fact, was just cold and very rude...
His overall appearance was ragged, and his condescending, non-caring, attitude was reflected by the employees that worked at this restaurant.
It might seem that when 5 guests come in and spend over 300.00 for a meal, we could get something a little special. This experience was the opposite of that, and it will be a while before i (or anyone I know) goes back there.
What a shame...
I went to this Benihanas in Broomfield at least once a month since last year and thought it was fantastic. They had great service great prices (all you can eat sushi for $25) and big tasty pieces of sushi. I talked so highly of this place so people knew how much I liked it. That is probably why my sister bought me a gift certificates there for Christmas. Well this time (1/14/07 6PM) instead of two large pieces for every order you got one half size piece for every order. The service though was what really upset me. There was about 3 customers in the sushi section and about 4-5 servers in there all around 18-24 in age talking in circle most of the night. Sonia my server would go talk to I assume the Mgr. and would go to the back and immediately come out and suggest the appetizers. This happened twice so I guess they were upset I was ordering fish. She also brought me some miso soup in the beginning that I did not order and I told her I did not want it at that time. I wanted to save room for the good stuff, the sushi. Winding down my meal I wanted something hot so then I wanted the soup. I ordered it and when the sushi chef told Sonia she replied I already give him that with an attitude. I guess she thought I couldnt hear her 10 ft away from me. She then turned around with a fake smile and gave me my soup. In short the service is what you could expect at any McDonalds or Burger King and the once great all you can eat deal with large quality pieces has now been re-designed to maximize profit cutting as many corners as possible. I use to only go to Sushi Zanmi in Boulder before and that is probably where I will start going again because I will never go back to Benihanas in Broomfield.
My oldest girl and I went, I questioned it because I'm not a raw fish eater, but there was a large choice of NONE raw fish sushi. The atmophere was great. The hostess was very accomadating. Prices where fair. Try it, you'll love it.
There food and sushi are Excellent. The service in the sushi bar is terrible. Everytime I have been to the sushi bar the service has been terrible. The wait staff are verry rude and act like they dont care if you come back again. I dont like to be treated like that when I am spending $35 a plate and an easy $50 on sushi.
Husband and I went here to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. We didn't make a reservation (oops) and it was prom season. However, we got right in! The staff was great & our chef was awesome - very funny! This is by far one my favorite places to eat when celebrating a special occassion.
