For over 20 years, this family-owned restaurant has served El Pasoians some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine to be found anywhere. Famous for their live Mexican or jazz music and for having the best margaritas in El Paso.
Positively the Worst experience..Had made a reservation a week prior. When my sister showed up to take some decorations they said they did not have anyone under my name though they did have one with the same last name, amount of people and time..Come to find out that was my reservation which they didnt care to acknowledge their mistake. When i made the reservation AGAIN..the supposed manager told me that my entire party had to be there by no later than 720. Needless to say the entire party didnt come and so me moved over one table..When that happened we were quickly forgoten by the waiter. Orders were forgotten and staff was rude.. Never again. Shame on the staff for poor service skills..no excuses
This establishment is a credit to El Paso and its' surrounding communities. Service, staff, drinks and food are wonderful. Great for a romantic dinner, entertaining family/friends or haning out with the gang. Bring your family and friends, day or night they will also enjoy the decor and mariachis. God Bless America! My Husband and I went to Carlos and Mickey's for a lunch date! The food was very good. We got there right at the time they opened so we were seated immediately. We were served in a timely manner as well. Since the restaurant is popular, sometimes there can be a long wait time. All of the servers I have met have been polite! I also like that I can call and order for pick up. Being that I am military sometimes I don't have a lot of time for lunch, so I call ahead and pick it up. Great place!
Food is just o k. Have been there about six times. Wont be back. Final straw last night when staff person ran through restaurant filled with many military eating with mexican flag draped over shoulders. We then got lecture from server about Arizona's new Immigration laws and how the lazy American farmers should give the farms to the illegals. How dare they disrespect our country that gives them an opportunity for a better life and the soldiers that put their lives on the line.
I took my girlfriend and her mother for lunch and had to wait to be seated about twenty mins. After which it took another 15 mins before anyone came to get our drink/food orders. We waited about 30 mins to get our food, I could understand if it were busy but it was not. Service was horrible! If you want to eat there plan on waiting a very long time. Two thumbs down.
When I lived in El Paso I had gone there around 5-8 times. Food is great! There is a wait if you go during the evening hours. Traveled to El Paso this weekend and took the boyfriend along. This place has the BEST nachos I have ever had. Go just for the nachos grandes if need be. Only annoying thing wasnt the place at all, it was the group of heckling girls, and I say girls cuz although they were drinking they were loud and obnoxious, and they had no manners, cursing in every other sentence, and talking to each other as if they were trying to find each other across a crowded room. Conversing w/the boyfriend was limited. High heels and potty mouths dont give ya class girlies. Back to the review, good food, decent prices, a wait is expected, and high heeled chavalas are for sure there.
My wife and I went today during lunch. There was alot of people but hardly no wait time. I had never been there before today, but my wife had been there before and liked it. She wanted me to try it and so we went. The price was reasonable. It wasn't like fast food resturants where they just rush with very thing. The wait staff was polite and respectful we thought. The food was AWESOME! We ordered the Mickey's Burger and it came with fries and that is all we had and it filled us both up. My wife was asking me if I wanted some fried ice cream or other desserts, but I was too full after the burger. We highly suggest this resturant for anyone that comes to El Paso!
What can be said about Carlos and Mickeys? I say let the restraunt speak for itself! The traditional Mexican atmosphere is very welcoming and very entertaining along with the mariache band that frequents the restraunt. The food is superb for a small town restraunt and with very filling portions for the price.
I have been all across this nation and I look forward to twice a year spending a week in El Paso and dining at this excellent restraunt.
This restaurant is the ULTMATE BEST in El Paso!!!! You would have to be crazy not to like this place!! The restaurant's decorations tell people what El Paso really is like! There are some pretty cool decorations they use, too!!! The service is awesome!!The food is SUPERB!! The place is casual!! The rest you'll have to go figure out yourself!! Stop by there anyday!!!
