I was reminded on today's visit why eating at McDonald's is never my first choice. The service was just awful. We ordered 2 children's meals and 2 adult meals. The employee found it difficult to provide us with condiments such as: coffee creamer, barbeque sauce and sugar. She gave us one barbeque sauce packet even though we had ordered 2 chicken nugget meals. When we asked for a second one, she said very rudely that there was a charge of five cents. We paid the five cents for the sauce and her demeanor did not change. The manager stood behind the counter and watched her behavior and never made an attempt to stop her. He did not apologize, he did not offer to take care of our order, he simply watched. The cashier took the money and slammed the cash register. El Paso is a city where the unemployment rate is always high during the holidays. Surely their job can be filled by a friendlier person who will appreciate the job more than they do. As an educator, I am saddened by the fact that no one has taken the time to show this person or her manager some manners. It is apparent that they have also not been given customer service training.
