Como's Italian Restaurant, El Paso

Como's serves the kind of Italian food your grandparents went out for in 1962. Heavy, rich, overwrought red sauce, fat soggy pasta, too much cheese on most things, greasy garlic bread, etc. It seems all the Arab families started Italian restaurants in El Paso back in the 1950s. Capetto's, Como's, Sorrento's, Bella Napoli, Michelinas, etc. Most still use their grandparents old recipies..... which are not really Italian at all but New York Italian circa 1952. Como's remains one of the better ones and is popular, but if you are familiar with a lighter, more modern style of Italian, you may be disappointed.

I absolutely love this restaurant!! I go at least twice a week every week!! The chicken Parmigiana is the best!!!

The chicken alfredo was good until i found like two strands of hair in it! The waitress took forever on our orders and forgot one. She was kind of rude too. Will not go there again!

I don't agree with the other reviews. The tomato sauces are too heavy. The pasta is soggy, not al dente. The pasta primavera tasted like a frozen dinner. The bread was burnt, and the service was spotty.

For El Paso this is about the best Italian Food that you are going to get. The Eggplant Parm and the Pizza are above average. For any other major city this restaurant would be considered mediocre.

My Favorite!!!!! It's the best Italian food in El Paso. The best part is that it is locally owned!!! Not expensive and you can dress however you want. Good place to go to if you are out on a romantic date.

If anyone has not tried Como's you are missing out. It is the BEST Italian food in El Paso by far. Their prices are great for the size of the platter. Why waste the same amount of money at Olive Garden, for a small plate of commercialized Italian food when you can go there and get an excellent portion of a great meal. Best fettucini alfedo ever!!!!! I live in San Antonio now and I have yet to find anything to compare, my family and I sure miss Como's.

The service was not what i expecte. We have been there several times and this time it was not good. The waiter took for ever to get our drinks and by the time we got our food it was cold. I couldn't wait around to have them warm it up again.

Comos,the little Italian restaurant that doesn't need advertising. I have tried "Carino's, Olive Garden. Italian Kitchen and more. There is no better than this "authentic" Italian food. The atmosphere is relaxed and the customers are the regulars. Best one in town,truly!
