Taqueria Jalisco, Lubbock

This restaurant is not handicapped accessible and refuses to help anyone in a wheelchair or scooter because they would be an inconvenience to the staff trying to serve regular customers. They refused to set my family, which included my brother in a power scooter until a table way in the back of the restaurant was available and out of their way. They waited on other regular customers and was very hateful to my mother and brother who were both handicapped. I even talked to the owner who was also abusive and hateful. In my opinion, this restaurant needs to either comply to ADA 504 Federal laws or be closed down and fined for their abuse. This happened on 9/12/10 at 12:00 noon.

My family and I eat here last week while we were overnighting in Lubbock. It is excellent and inexpensive. The restaurant was pretty clean and has a nice atmosphere. It made an impression on my college aged son too. He called yesterday and said "What was the name of that Mexican place in Lubbock that was so good? I want to tell a friend." Highly recommended.

My husband and I eat here regularly. The people are friendly, the food is excellent (just like Abuela's), the place is clean, the atmosphere is pleasant enough to take the kids (not sure at night--they serve alcohol). Lunch specials make for affordable lunches. There may be a bit of a language understanding issue if you have a hard time with accents. Overall, it's great food at a great price.

finally! i found a place to get authentic mexican food at a good price. its awesome to get tacos al pastor for $5 at 9:30pm on a Sunday...

The most authentic best tex-mex food in town, most of the waitstaff doesnt speak spanish though, so you better brush up on your espanol. Im fluent so it wasnt an issue for me, i thought it gave it a more authentic atmosphere. You gotta try the quesadillas or the barbacoa burritos, mmmmm!!!!

Freakishly cheap while still being tasty. Very cheap margaritas (and reasonably strong). I love this place.
