This restaurant offers cuisine that is influenced more by interior Mexico than the locally common Tex-Mex food. The dining space is casual, with a pleasant atmosphere and includes a small outdoor patio area. A good number of appetizers are served, including fully loaded nachos. Reasonably priced specialties include Mole Poblano, chicken simmered in a rich mole sauce and Tamales Veracruzanos, your choice of chicken, beef, pork, raisin, or pineapple tamales wrapped in banana leaves. You will also find burritos and a range of enchilada plates. Breakfast plates and breakfast tacos are served mornings. A full bar is available with daily happy hour.
Jarddin is a great place for a margarita and chips. The ritas will knock you on our keester and are a good value. However, I have had some issues with the food at times. Who puts potatoes in nachos?! Food is fair - not ever great - but it is fast and has a relaxed and casual atmosphere. Not bad if you just need a quick mexican food fix.
this place rocks. I would recommend to every one looking great queso,ritas & and everything yummy. Prices are very low for what you get. You have to eat here to know the diff. between ok & the best mexican food. draft beer comes in a large rita glass.
i'm not sure what you people are on - i know a lot of people who really like this place - but i'd rather eat at taco bell. The only thing Jardin Corona has better than taco bell is their queso - period.
I've been going to this place since 6th grade when it was a small room with a wetbar in the corner. This place really is amazing, but there are a few things to consider.
* The enchilladas are mediocre. So are the flautas. Don't get these.
* The Pollo Tequilla special on Tuesday is amazing.
* The Fajitas Mexicanas are cooked in Jalapenos and Tomatos. (Nice touch)
* Lunch is always crowded, and service suffers in the madness.
* Ask for charro beans instead of refried. They are much better.
* 'Picosa' salsa isnt on the menu, but is extremely spicy and great on fajitas.
* The margaritas are great.
I HIGHLY recommend the following dishes.
** Pollo Tequilla (Fajita meat cooked in avocados, cheese, and jalapenos w/ salad for tacos)
** Prechuga Rio Grande (Chicken, Mushrooms, Jack Cheese w/ salad for tacos)
** Alambre Special (Shrimp and veggie skewers for making tacos)
* Fajitas Mexicanas (Cooked in Tomaotes and Jalepenos. Cheese is extra)
* Papa Nachos (Potatoe Skins w/ fajita meat)
* Seasoned Shrimp
* Carne Asada (I like this style much better then Guisada)
* Tortilla Soup (There is a soup and taco combo)
I do NOT recommend:
* Chile Relleno
* Going for lunch unless before 12 or after 1:30.
The food is outstanding, I usually order the beef fajita nachos with no beans and it is amazing. However the only thing that is a love/hate situation is the location. If you get there right at 12 noon there is no place to sit. Same goes for weekends, however I've seen so many great places get a bigger building a there food suffers. So all things considered. Great food, good prices!
