Description

With fusion food on the rise and the word "bistro" thrown around willy-nilly, it is comforting to find an authentic one of the French variety. Homemade pate, roasted chicken and crepes, wonderfully executed and served in a cozy, dimly lit dining room dominated by a long bar. Rich, toothsome dishes such as Escalopes de Veau aux Noix can be accompanied by an appropriately Gallic wine from the well-populated wine list. Try the Salade Chez Nous, and do not miss the Crepe du Jour.

This is by far my favorite place in Austin. Try the duck breast in a red wine/sherry reduction sauce, to die for. Very traditional french bistro. Set aside 2 to 3 hours for dinner as nothing is rushed.

I went to this place in Spring,Tx; a few years ago for my wedding anniversary. When we drove up to the place it didn't look like much outside, but it very nice and the ambiance was good and the service was GREAT! Would def.go back again. Bon Appetit! :)

Authentic French Bistro

I have been eating here at least three times a year for about eight years now and I love it! The food is straight forward perfection. Don't expect to be wooed by pretention. No white table clothes here. Just honest food and laid back service.

The Best

My wife and I lived in France for a couple years, and Chez Nous is just like being back in Paris. We love it. If you want true French, not some American copy, then go to Chez Nous. Order from the specials of the day and you'll get the best deal, just like the restaurants in France.

Just like France!

My wife and I went to Paris on our honey moon. When it came time for our 5th anniversary I wanted to take her some where that would have food that would remind us of our time in Paris. Well this was just that place. The food was increadable and the price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place to any one who asked me.

Skip Lunch

While I have previosuly had a pleasant dinner with fairly good food, lunch at Chez Nous is another matter altogether. The steak and cheese sandwich is abominable and left an aftertaste that chocolate, Capuccino and a popsicle cannot get rid of hours later. The dessert used baking chocolate instead of sweet chocolate and was just as disappointing, and the beans used for the Capaccino were too bitter. The service was fair, but the dessert prices are ridiculous.

Hard to top for unpretentious French food

Unless you're intimidated by all things French, this place can't be beat. The prix fixe menu is a great deal, with real, honest French bistro food at reasonable (for the quality) prices. A real Austin treasure.

most authentic French restaurant

My wife and I love Chez Nous - we've been going since before we were married and their food continues to be amazingly consistent and wonderful. The value is great as well - their fixed menu is superb, where else can you get appetizer, entre and desert for this price?
