Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill

Description

The Moonshine Grill sits in the oldest building in Austin and the decor tastefully reflects the same. The sweeping arches and exquisite mirrors on the brick and stone walls, not to mention the warm fire place all make for a cozy setting. The starters everyone raves about are the 'Corn Dog' Shrimp (skewered shrimp in cornmeal batter, served with honey and blueberry mustard). The choice entrees are the broiled rainbow trout and Texas flat iron steak. Behind the main restaurant is a refurbished carriage converted into a bar, making the Moonshine Grill an ideal setting, no matter what the occasion.

Awesome service! They told us a 45 minute wait, ended up being 20 minutes! The brunch was amazing! I loved the king ranch chicken casserole, a must! I will be returning!

The brunch is to die for. You'll wait a while, but you can get mimosas and bloody marys in the meantime! Regular menu is also good, but Sunday brunch just can't be beat. Wonderful atmosphere as well.

Very impressed with the Sunday brunch buffet! Great food and you get to try anything you want! A little pricey for some, but worth it if you want something unique and special. Would go back in a heartbeat!

My friends and I went during brunch on a Sunday. We arrived at 9:40 am and there were people already waiting outside. TIP: THERE IS A HOSTESS THAT WALKS AROUND WITH A WAITING LIST. Nobody told us and the hostess must have taken a break because we never saw her. It wasn't until a kind girl told us that there is a list made before opening. Anyway, once inside the food is good. Our group had a bit of everything including pancakes, many egg casseroles, sausage, biscuits, chicken fingers, and fruit. It was a bit crazy because there were alot of people in line and several lines. Also, I had to return twice to the buffet because they were out of several items I wanted. Especially the pancakes! They should bring out more than 12 mini pancakes to a buffet line with tons of people waiting and most grabbing at least 2 to 3 of them. I would return if I stayed in downtown Austin because it was convenient.

AWESOME restaurant! Went to moonshine on saturday, 12/6, at 7:15 p.m. we had a party of 8. didn't have a reservation and only waited for 30 minutes at the bar. dinner was way better than what i expected. i had salmon and my husband had the steak. they were both incredible. everyone loved their dinner. can't wait to go back again! great atmosphere and lots of good food!

I agree about the host, but im reffering to the one with the blue/black hair. I have never in my life had someone be so rude to me for no reason at all. NOT GOING BACK. And it wasnt just me, I heard a few people comment on her while waiting for the valet.

I have one word to describe the hostess with the pink hair; it rhymes with the play most football teams’ call at 4th and long. Such a horrible ordeal to get to a table, and once there the food was mediocre at best. $43 breakfast for two is way too much for this clusterf*ck of a restaurant.
