Gumbo's is fantastic! Love the food, all of it! Can't go wrong with anything you order. Excellent service & a great atmosphere. I go back any chance I get & will suggest it to anybody looking for a great place to eat & enjoy themselves.
I was very impressed with the food here. We are rather picky about our seafood expecially crab. I must admit, this is one of three restaraunts we've found in the entire Austin area that we would frequent for seafood. Impressive. BUT RESERVE AHEAD!
We visited the Austin location of Gumbos and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. WHile they were out of a few main items they clearly made up for it. The salmon rockefeller was excellent. The food was priced right but sides are ala carte (still reasonable). The house merlot was a tad expensive at $8.50 a glass, but we would still return.
Vallet is $7 on weekends.
I would have to say I have a new favorite restaurant in Round Rock, Gumbos. Excellent!! The food is great. We went on a Friday night about 7:30, there was a 45-60 minute wait, but we sat out in the patio listening to Jazz and ordered drinks and an appetizer, (Shrimp Robert, very good) time flew, I believe it was more of a 30 - 40 minute wait. Sitting outside was a treat, you wont mind at all. For Dinner I ordered Beef Tenderloin & Shrimp on Cheese Filled Tortolini, Yummy, my hubby had Shrimp & Crawfish on pasta with the bacon garlic sauce, he thought it was Yummy too. All I have to say is Excellent Food and Excellent Service. With drinks, appetizer and dinner we spent about $60. We were to stuffed to try dessert.
Served with very good service.
A bit on the expensive side, perfect for those special occasions.
The only negative is the noise level. It's quite high :o(
My wife had the Stuffed Trout and I had the Salmon Rockfeller. We ended the meal with their Bread Pudding. We also shared a cup of the Seafood Gumbo.
With Tax it came out to be just over $66.
We will definitely be going back. But next time we may need to make reservation. We were lucky to have been seated as soon as we got there (~8:50pm on a Tuesday).
In an area with so many chain restaurants, Gumbo's up in Round Rock really stands out! The food and service are both superb and well worth it! I first tried Gumbo's at a catered event. I'm so glad I did. Its our new favorite for those times we want something special!
The best meal we've had in a long time! We went for our anniversary. The staff greeted us immediately and made sure we were well taken care of. I had the Tenderloin Robert (Melt in you mouth steak!!) and my wife had the chef's wonderful special. OH, speaking of the chef, we sent our compliments to the kitchen and he himself brought out our desserts!!! Thanks Chef Davey and Thanks Gumbo's!!!!!! We'll be back!
