My wife and I have made numerous trips to Fredricksberg in the last 10 to 15 years, but had never eaten at Rathskeller Bistro. At the bidding of one in her Sunday School class we did on our last visit. I don't remember the entre we ordered but do remember that it was very good. What I do remember was the Peach Bread Pudding. It is the best thing I have ever eaten. I can promise that we will never miss an opportunity to eat there on subsiquent visits.
For breakfast, we had their OJ (a shot glass of OJ for something like $2.20 straight from the carton) and hot cholocate to go along with some beignets. The beignets were okay. The place was rather overpriced.
If you have a baby, a restaurant in a cellar isn't that attractive. It's not very accessible
Absolutely phenomonal!!! Wow, Where to begin? Me and my husband drove up from Austin for a few days and decided to eat here for dinner. The server was very nice and personable. We started with the crab and avacado dip, My husband doesn;t even like avacado and he loved it! A must have there! For our entrees we both had a special, I had the chicken parmigiana, Which may have been the best meal I have ever had in my life!! Absolutely incredible. My husdband had the New York Strip, The demi sauce and mushrooms were delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. From the service to the meals the whole experience and atmosphere was absolutely perfect. We will be back very soon!
Our old car group spent the weekend in Fredericksburg and had dinner here on Friday night after a very long days drive. It was wonderful! Absolutely the best red cabbage I have ever had and I have been to Germany six or seven times. The waitress was great and gave us the ingredients but told us we would have to figure out the magic amounts on our own. She also did us the favor of recommending the peach bread pudding. Can't wait for another trip to the area so we can eat here again.
Love this restaurant. Have eaten breakfast and dinner several times here. Some of the best food in town. Vey clean, staff is very nice and they have the best coffee in town. Never miss eating here when we are in Fredericksburg.
We live in Fredericksburg and this is our favorite place! I love the Chicken Salad on Mixed greens, while my husband's favorite is the Hill Country Dip. I could eat here twice a week! We have a favorite waitress and so it is always a pleasure to go here.
This place was awesome. We ate a late breakfast here on a Saturday Morning. It was wonderful. Absolutely loved it. Being in the basement of another business brought me back to the streets of Berlin. All that was missing was the beetnik in the corner reading poetry. I will return therre again.
We find it hard to go past the Rathskeller when in Fredericksburg (even when we've talked about trying somewhere else we usually end up here instead) We've been there several times and have never had a bad a meal here. My husband always has the ribeye which he says is cooked to perfection . Don't hestitate
