On Saturday August 10, 2013 were arrived at the Crazy Cajun at 1130 thinking we would grab some lunch. But to our surprise it was closed. The sign said open at noon on Saturday. So we sat in the parking lot and waited for the place to open. When noon came the doors were opened and we went in to be greeted with a dark, dim, smelly place. This place is awful and that is an understatement. We asked where we could sit, as it looked like they were not open for business. Some large woman charged out from the back of the kitchen area and told us any of the four tables right here. She was rude beyond belief. Our party was not going to fit comfortable at that table so we asked for something larger. The large lady was put out by that request. At that point I was not going to spend a dime in that place. To many red flags. The place is filthy, dirty and not people friendly. We did not even get to the food. We left after her behavior, the food can t be good here. You would have to get past the stench in the place. YUCK YUCK YUCK.
My wife and I went today and the food was outstanding. I believe our server was Toletha (sp?) and she was fantastic. Hands down the best food and service we've had so far after a week dining out in the Corpus area.
What a great place to eat and the kids love it too.
Where else can you eat food being piled high, hot and ready to eat in the middle of the table with a little wooden mallet and very fun waiters.
Here of course!
I would recommend this to you just for the experience.
The food was good. We got the crab, shrimp and crawfish boil. I especially liked the crab legs as did everyone else in my party.
Try it! You will want to bring everyone you know here.
It made me want to have the same experience in my own home...minus the clean-up.
What a fun place. The Hungry Cajun must be experienced. Eclectic group of people, good fun, very reasonable price. Our dinner had plenty of crablegs, shrimp, and crawfish along with the potatoes and corn. My wife and I look forward to going again on our next visit.
A great, loud, and upbeat atmosphere, everyone should try Crazy Cajun at least once. If you eat Cajun food regularly, then you might not like this place, but if you eat it only a few times a year, like me, then it is worth a stop. I would describe the food as a mild Cajun, a few years ago you would leave with your fingers and lips on fire, now they are just tingling. The average price was $18. A must for someone who wants to break from the norm and eat their food with no plates, I would recommend the Crazy Cajun to everyone whose new to the island.
What little food we got was okay, but the key word is little!!!!! Don't go there to get full! We spent over 50.00 on 2 people and were still hungry when we left...when they sent our food out and there was only about 12 crawfish that is suppose to be 2 lbs......lol don't think so....maybe you should check your weights or something!!!! When I tried to tell the server that 12 crawfish is not 2 lbs he wouldn't come back to our table. If you want to get full and your moneys worth I would go to the boiling pot in Rockport at least you will walk out of there with a doggy bag! This place doesn't even rate as far as I am concerned. Another place to look out for is Hooks....unless you like salt!
