This review is long overdue and I hope it helps someone out there to know the kind of service and quality of food they will get from this Pete’s location. My history with them has been touch and go, but as of today it will be the last time anyone in my family will order from any Pete’s location. To be fair, when their chicken is fresh it is quite delicious, but the reality is that rarely happens unless you are there when they open at 10:30am. If you know Pete’s menu, you will realize how much they have raised their prices. Not just a little, but quite a bit of difference in their price. At this location my experiences as a consumer have left much to be desired from quality of service, to food to management. In one visit, I watched my cashier grab rolls out of a plastic bag, put them into a paper bag and then give me my change with the same hands. As a customer, I want to know my food is clean and handled with care, I asked her for new rolls because she was actually touching our rolls with the same hands that was exchanging everyone’s money. After this, I stopped going there for quite some time. Then a couple of years passed and out of the blue we tried their gizzards, which were really good marinated nice and tender ---that ONE TIME. The next few times we ordered gizzards they were fried so hard there was no way you could bite into them or chew them. One of those visits I decided to take my order back. I just wanted to be able to enjoy our gizzards. Instead of trying to make good on their mistake, they gave me back exactly the number I took back which was 8 gizzards. Not even an offer of a drink for their mistake, much less offering to remake the entire dozen again. This location is also in the habit of forgetting things whether it’s the jalapenos, to fries, to anything. As a consumer there is a certain trust when you grab your order and drive away that what you paid for will be in the bag. I forgave this a few times, but then I got tired of paying them for food I was not getting. My first experience in calling to speak to a manager did not go well. As a customer, it’s not much to ask for professionalism and common courtesy. I told her they forgot 2 jalapenos and our small fries. She offered me nothing for their mistake, not that I am looking for hand outs, but to be fair offer something for your mistake, a drink in exchange for the extra trip, effort and gas it takes to drive back for something that was not my fault. She offered nothing but 2 jalapenos and a small order of fries. For management common courtesy would offer in the least an apology, but that didn’t happen. I decided right then and there that was it for Pete’s. To my dismay, my brother comes home today during lunch with Pete’s. He ordered a 4 piece mixed chicken only, a 3 piece mixed chicken only, and 1 dozen of gizzards and to top it off the price was almost 20.00 dollars. I am glad for it because it led me to write this review. Our lunch was no way edible. The smell of the chicken was old. The chicken was hard. One chicken leg was broken, so the marrow of the bone was all inside of the meat making it a black color all throughout. The gizzards were not cooked all the way, the crust would not even hold to the gizzard, and of course they again forgot the jalapenos. I think that says a lot for Pete’s on Kostoryz to the quality of food you would get at this location. That is our history with Pete’s --- from food quality, to service, especially to management in how they treat their customers in general, Pete’s fails in every way imaginable and excels in being a big disappointment over and over again.
