We went for my son s birthday right before the school year began. We got seated and did not get a menu or drinks or any attention from anyone for 30 minutes. We were about to get up and leave before someone attended to us. Awful service, food was just mediocre. No excuse, because it wasn t busy and it was a Monday at lunchtime. never again will we go back. Much better food and service at other restaurants in the area.
Host-We got there with my family and told the host that we were 12 in the party and 1 baby and she went UGHHHHHHHHH put the menus to her face and gave a big sigh and told us to wait. She then returned and said we had to sit out there and they would attend to us shortly. Now grant it there was nobody there it wasn t even 11:00 am and this place is Rated Great??? No we told her Never Mind and started walking away and she replied in a sarcastic way Ahh!! I m Sorry ????. Sunday 08/11/2013
The WORST food ever!!!! The service has HORRIBLE!!! We were told to seat our selfs so we did, waited 20 mins before service. Our waiter gave our food to someone else then took it off their table and gave it to us.. The alcohol drinks are weak and taste like water. the Seats were sticky, tables were dirty. the waitor rushed us to eat. MY 10 NIECE CAN COOK BETTER THEN these ppl. the chef should be fired.
HORRIBLE!!! My husband and I were spending Memorial Day weekend in Corpus Christi, and had just gotten through seeing the Aquarium and the USS Lexington. Pier 99 is in walking distance from both, and looked like a colorful beachfront joint that might offer fresh seafood. Our waitress got our drinks and our order, then we never saw her again until we were ready to leave. We had to flag down other servers for drink refills, and while my husband s meal arrived within a reasonable time, my meal apparently got lost. By the time I got it, my husband had already finished his meal. Mine was cold, greasy, and completely nasty. I ve had better seafood at Long John Silvers. The place was teaming with flies to the point where we had to constantly wave something to keep them from landing on our food or in our drinks, and were sitting INSIDE. It was a constant battle to get service. And it was $50 BUCKS!! It wasn t worth $5. I will NOT be going back, nor will I recommend it to anyone.
Not good. Would not go back. There were five of us and none of the plates we ordered were good. Calamari was tasty but very gritty like it wasn't washed well. The $34 plate that served two was just ok. No taste to any of the shrimp except the boiled shrimp but it was served warm, not chilled as we expected. Very pricey for the quality of food. This is a tourist trap since its close to the Aquarium and Lexington. Skip this place and find somewhere else.
We discovered Pier 99 on our first trip into Corpus after moving to Kingsville, and it has already become our favorite place to go. The food is great and reasonably priced, and the view is marvelous! We like sitting outside to see the view.
