Taqueria El Potro, Corpus Christi

I'm for the Valley and this is the closest thing to home food. I eat at this place regularly. It's amazing. I love their queso and the service is friendly and fast. I always get the #1. and I'm telling you it's awesome.

OK. Nothing special. Service was friendly and fast. Food was mediocre. Refried beans were tasteless. Rice was good. My wife had the cheese enchiladas and pronounced them sub-par.

The best affordable Mexican in town. I love eating here and do so on a regular basis. I don't think you can go wrong on any menu item, but the green enchiladas and mini taquitos are especially good.

----THIS PLACE IS FOR LOCALS ONLY!!!--- TOURISTS GO TO LA PLAYA, KIKOS, etc.. ..since..well,.. I HATE waiting for tables. GREAT margaritas also/my hangout!

Consider my review biased because I live down the street and eat there all the time, but El Potro is my favorite mexican food restaurant in town. Food is amazing and service is great. If you are in the drive thru in a long line, they'll come out and take your order. This way when you reach the window, your order is pretty much ready. The #20 (Tacos al Carbon) is awesome. They have a great breakfast choice. They have a plate with pancakes, eggs and sausage or bacon. That is a very filling plate. Well everyone owes it to themselves to take a trip enjoy this wonderful restaurant. (Don't forget to order a lemonade)

This is by far the best mexican restaurant in Corpus. My best friend and I used to go there at least once a week. They have the best service and the most friendly staff. Very fast too, no matter how packed the crowd. They also offer drive through which is also great. Their chicken enchiladas are the best as well as their chicken chalupas. Definitely the best!

We just moved out of Corpus Christi to Austin, and it might sound sad.. but the only thing we miss about Corpus is this restaurant. We can't find any great mexican food up here! Also, try Acapulco on Staples and Doddridge/Weber. Their beef enchiladas are excellent.

This place knows how to treat customers. The food is excellent and brought out fast. I have switched from going to the regular taquerida to this place. I have even converted my parents to eat here instead of where they used to eat.
