Mamacita's Restaurant & Cntn, San Antonio

We stayed at a hotel up the street and was only looking for something nearby as we were tired from a long drive from the DFW area. It was crowded when we walked in but that just told us it was a great place to eat. They have chips and salsa for you to enjoy while waiting on your table. While the wait was long we were lucky enough to get a table in the bar area. It was worth the wait. I had the fajitas and they were fantastic. My husband is pretty picky and he really enjoyed his meal, it was a seafood dish. Plenty of food. The service was great and we were shocked at how low the bill was for the 3 of us. It has a very authentic look. Clean also. We will be returning to San Antonio same time next year and plan to return. Not sure if they make reservations - but will check before we go next time.

I know mexican food. I know tex-mex. I know a budget. Mamacita's grabbed my attention as being one of the few places in San Antonio that understands vegetarian restrictions. I have being coming here for the past few months and decided to have my birthday party at their San Marcos location. Free sopapillas and somberos!!! Make sure you wear stretchy pants cuz' the green dip is made with heavy cream! But for all of us vegetarians, they have veggie fajitas (generous with portabellos, when asked, and they will steam them as opposed to cooking them in massive amounts of butter!) veggie friendly beans and rice too! Fantastic margaritas that make me ask for a cab!

The ambience is very very nice, but the food is far from being good Mexican food. If you are used to real Mexican food, this is not the place where you will find it.

We have been going to Mamacitas for years now. It is always the first place we take people when comming out of town and always recieves raving reviews. I don't know what the others are talking about that have negatively rated this resturant, because I have not had a complaint in the many times we have gone. Its a great resturant!

Excellent food

Right off, the inside looked really authentic. Nice atmosphere. We loved your menu and prices! Your wait staff and Mgt. were very helpful and ATTENTIVE! Then the food came... Chips, tortillias,salsa, and our main course. This was by far the best mex food weve ever had, and mex food is our fav. We so want this rest. in our town.(oklahoma city) Thanks so much for a great experience! We now have a fav. resturant and another reason to come to San Antonio. the Hawkins Family

It's very good Tex Mex, but I've had better for a lot cheaper too.

So many delicious foods makes me want to taste everything on the menu. The service is good as the food. Great Job!

This restaurant has an authentic feel as if your sitting in the night sky of a mexican villa with the town setting around you. The food is some of the best I have tasted. Their fresh tortillas make an excellent addition. Excellent customer service. The manager is always willing to stop by every table and shakes your hand everytime you leave.
